General Overview of Experience Military Bomber Experience
How long did you have your application in before you received an invite? <60 days
Did you attend a job fair? No
Did you do anything special that triggered the interview invitation? At 100 hours of recency with Regional, I submitted my airlineapps online and my buddies from Delta submitted recommendation letters.
How many internal recs did you have? 5+
How long was it from the time of your invite to the actual interview? 4 weeks
Did you have any issues with logbooks, application or paperwork? No issues or questions. I used the green AF HARM folder for my AF time—-I took out the extraneous paperwork and tabbed the different aircraft. I used LogTen Pro for my Regional flying and printed that out. I also made a single page spreadsheet that listed/calculated all my time.
Technical Test Questions I used RST for the online test ‘games’ and felt well prepared.
What was the hardest technical question or content you experienced during the job knowledge test? N/A
HR Questions Intro yourself in 3 min (I was comfortable with 5 min version, so did that, no issues)
Why Delta?
You live in VA, what are your plans for commuting, or have you thought about that?
What was/is your favorite volunteer event/activity?
TMAT something in your career didn’t turn out the way you hoped/expected?
TMAT you made a mistake flying (or might have been experienced poor CRM or leadership)?
TMAT you experienced good CRM?
TMAT your worst EP? —this was same story I had for CRM—so had to flex to another EP story.
A couple other follow-ups within the stories that I don’t remember.
Cog Test Didn’t seem too difficult. RST prep was good.
How long prior to the interview did you prepare for the HR portion of the interview? 2-3 months
Any additional information you would like to add. The team at Delta really makes a concerted effort to put you at ease. The HR portion was very conversational—the CA and FO interviewers were really laid back, HR person was a little more business like, but still welcoming. 17 in my class, I think 14 got CJOs. My schedule was something like 0800-0830 meet everyone in conference room, 0830-0945 psych test. 1030-1130 HR interview. 1145-1230 lunch. CJO at 1245. Paperwork 1300-1330. Drug test and fingerprints until 1430. Out by around 1500. Caught earlier flight home. They split us into 3 groups though, so some people did HR first. A smaller 3rd group had to wait a little longer than the rest.
Is there anything you wish you could have done different to prepare you for this process? No, I felt pretty comfortable.
