Technical Test Questions Descents, Fuel Planning, etc. Everything seemed to have been covered by RST.
What was the hardest technical question or content you experienced during the job knowledge test? The mental math questions were tough, otherwise there wasn’t anything I hadn’t seen while reviewing RST topics.
HR Questions I had a less than stellar start to college – the MAJORITY of my HR interview focused on that. In summary, I spent the first 1.5 years at college never finishing classes, nor dropping them (while I was working enlisted in the ANG) – obviously this brought my GPA down. After starting flying, I went back to school and finished with great grades. A lot of the discussion focused on what I was doing during the times I wasn’t doing well in class. I took ownership of it, and presented it to the HR panel in a positive light, highlighting what I had learned from it and why it was actually a very important part of my career development (would have never been where I am without experiencing those failures).
After talking about college, I had 1 TMAAT, and then we went into the WWYD questions. The TMAAT was related to conflict in the air, and the WWYD were a variety, nothing that hasn’t been written up on RST.
Cog Test So I found the cog test to be entertaining. I felt like I did well on it.
When I was told it was going to be a 6-month re-interview, I was asked “Why do you think it didn’t work out today?”
I answered perhaps HR? Since that’s where statistically the majority of failures are. I was told “Nope, you did very well in the HR portion!” So I said “JKT?”, again “No, your JKT scores were fairly high, which leaves either Cog or the Personality Test” I was told that they couldn’t tell which it was, which was a real stun to me.
How long prior to the interview did you prepare for the HR portion of the interview? 6 Months
Which HR Prep service did you use and did it help? ECIC – Absolutely helped.
Any additional information you would like to add. Delta is a class act. The whole process was very professional and organized. I honestly really enjoyed the experience.
Is there anything you wish you could have done different to prepare you for this process? After looking back trying to decipher what went wrong – the biggest thing I can pinpoint is the 1st day MMPI test (or similar…200 question personality test).
After reading ride reports, I knew the 2nd day test didn’t want to see too many neutral responses, so I think that may have bled over into my answers to the 1st day test. I answered the questions honestly, but I think I went with too many “Strongly Agree” and “Strongly Disagree”. Or I could have totally porked away the cog test and not even known it? No idea.
