General Overview of Experience Overall experience consisted of the Gallup assessment online, A 15 min phone screen, 1 hour Microsoft teams interview, and a logbook check in FLL. Phone screen consisted in asking basic questions regarding job qualifications, flight times, check ride failures and most importantly “why spirit?” After a successful phone screen a small panel interview was scheduled via Microsoft teams with one person from HR and a Chief Pilot. Interview was about 1 hour long and consisted of a quick certificate and document check before heading into “Tell me about yourself and walk me through your resume and work history”. Most feel me about a time when questions were asked by an HR representative, and technical questions asked by the chief pilot. Overall it was a combination of conversation invoking type questions and some direct answer questions on the technical portion. Overall very easy going interview that was just trying to get you to show your decision making process as a pilot. After the interview a logbook review was scheduled in FLL, positive space both was from anywhere Spirit has flights. Logbook review took 10 mins of checking your certificates and documents are in order as well as logbook is accurate, complete, and all pages signed. After that headed to another room for fingerprinting, paperwork, and headed out the door with A320 cockpit posters for studying.
How long did you have your application in before you received an invite? <60 days
Did you attend a job fair? No
Did you do anything special that triggered the interview invitation? Application update, internal recommendation
How many internal recs did you have? 1-2
How long was it from the time of your invite to the actual interview? 1 week
Did you have any issues with logbooks, application or paperwork? No, had everything tabbed out with flight summaries, table of contents, and a guide to significant events. The assistant chief doing the logbook review just looked through these pages, asked about my most recent type rating, and just skimmed through the pages, just checking to see if they were signed.
Technical Test Questions Was given a D-ATIS and a Jepp plate for the ILS 16C in Sea. Weather on the atis was below mins, asked if we could shoot the approach, then asked what the lowest kind we needed, and a few other questions on the plate. Then had me brief all the speeds, altitudes, highest MSA, and highest obstacle on a SID departing Bogota. Not very many other questions about technical stuff, max landing weight of the aircraft I currently fly.
What was the hardest technical question or content you experienced during the job knowledge test? Just taking through the “what would you do” scenario: WX is below mins for the approach you are about to conduct, CA says they are going to shoot the approach anyways WWYD?. All other questions were just related to the aircraft weights and speeds for the aircraft you fly.
HR Questions Why Spirit? You’ve been at your company for 6 years, why leave now? Tell me about yourself and walk us through your resume. Tell me about a time when things didn’t go as planned. Tell us about when you went above and beyond for a passenger. (Besides helping a passenger with a wheelchair). How would you handle a CA who says “I don’t use checklists”?

How did you prep?
Which HR Prep service did you use and did it help? N/A
