General Overview of Experience As advertised
How long did you have your application in before you received an invite? 6-12 months
Did you attend a job fair? Yes
Did you do anything special that triggered the interview invitation? 6 LOR’s; 4 internal LOR’s; 3 of the 4 internal LOR’s sent a letter to Delta Recruiting at the same time in March 2016; WIA in March of 2016; I updated my app on the 1st of every month and waited
How many internal recs did you have? 3-4
How long was it from the time of your invite to the actual interview? 4 weeks
Did you have any issues with logbooks, application or paperwork? No, I spent a lot of time to make sure everything was perfect. Don’t hesitate to call Delta Recruiting to ask questions. Gouge is good. But a direct answer from the source is better.
How did you prepare for the JKT/COG portion of the interview? I read and or listened to everything available on the RSTDelta website except for the “Resource Library” section. I did read all the T-34 guides. Not sure how anyone has time to read everything in there. I averaged 3-4 hours of studying HR prep and JKT/COG per day, 5-6 days a week, for 6.5 weeks.
Technical Test Questions I am not smart enough to remember or to lazy to recall. Read the T-34 guides. Read everything in the “Topical Study Guides” section. Don’t waste your time on recommended books like Everything Explained for the Professional Aviator. The two questions it will help with, you will probably already know the answer. If you want to study the questions offline, download kitdarby.com onto your iPhone. It’s pretty much the same questions as on RSTDelta.
What was the hardest technical question or content you experienced during the job knowledge test? See above
Cog Test I was scoring between 740-760 and had no problem. I knew I was going to do horrible on the math portion and still passed. Out of the 5 math questions I got, I knew the answer to 1 of 5. The other 4, I guessed “C”. I passed.

Which HR Prep service did you use and did it help? ECIC, Adam Hughes, & Aero Crew Solutions. I think ECIC is a great product. But it is not very personalized. The top off is great but it is only 1 to 1.5 hours. Adam Hughes and Aero Crew Solutions are great if you are looking for someone experienced with hiring boards to help you get comfortable telling your stories.
Any additional information you would like to add. I used every available source for this process. I put my app in with Delta almost 1 year to date. I used Aero Crew Solutions for my first app review. Then I used Checked and Set to review my resume. After my resume was complete, I updated my app to reflect everything in my updated resume. Then I got ECIC to review my app. I then went to a an ECIC seminar before WIA in March of 2016. Then I continued to build PIC and wait. When I received the invite I spent the time specified above studying. I used RSTDelta, 2 more webinars with ECIC, a top off with ECIC, 8 hours of either FaceTime or phone conversation with Adam Hughes for 1 on 1 HR prep, and last Aero Crew Solutions right before my interview in Atlanta. Aero Crew Solutions helped me make sure my paperwork was perfect and Dan was great with the HR prep. I put all my hours into a professional logbook like you have seen on RSTDelta. I had a company called Convertmylogbook.com take all my records and put it into a digital logbook. Yes, I’ve spent a lot of cash in the process but when I walked into the HR portion of the interview the only question I got was, “Can you please sign here?”, on my application.
Is their anything you wish you could have done different to prepare you for this process? Masters in Aerodynamics from Embry Riddle. I wish I would have never looked up the meaning of the scores of the MMPI. I scored between 65-70 on the K scale, Dominance, & the naive scale. I’ve read of individuals saying they were turned down because they were too positive. I though because I’m a pretty positive individual I may have an issue with this test. I’ve taken plenty of of personality tests in my life and have never given two thoughts about any of them. But the time wasted practicing a 560 something question test and reading the meaning of the scales could have been better spent studying aerodynamics and engineering stuff. I answered honestly and am sure I still had the same scores. I never had to retake the test and the interview with the psychologist was pretty chill. Reading the psychologist’s explanations of all the scales is what makes people crazy… Just saying.
