Did you receive a job offer? Yes
If you did not receive the CJO why do you think you weren’t chosen to continue in the process? N/A
What is your experience? 121 only
Total Flight Time Greater

General Overview of Experience As advertised. COG, JKT, and MMPI on Day 1. If you pass the testing on day 1, you are invited to the HR and SBI on day 2. Amy is with you on day 1 and she is awesome! She’s like a mom that’s super proud of her kids (the applicants she picked), so she goes out of her way to help you pass as much as she can. You pretty much won’t meet anyone else until day 2. Day 2 is the HR panel and SBI. It’s formal, but everyone wants you to pass too. You have no one to compete with but yourself. They want to hire 100% of everyone that interviews. They don’t play any weird games. Just be the best version of yourself and you’ll be fine.
How long did you have your application in before you received an invite? 12 months +
Did you attend a job fair? No
Did you do anything special that triggered the interview invitation? Amy told us that she looks for candidates with recent experience and update their applications often. That’s it. No internal recs. I put 1-2 below because there is no option for 0. Several other candidates also had none.
How many internal recs did you have? 1-2
How long was it from the time of your invite to the actual interview? 4 weeks
Did you have any issues with logbooks, application or paperwork? No, but bring paper copies of all your certificates and transcripts. Somehow I missed that detail, but no big deal. Kim just made copies there.
How did you prepare for the JKT/COG portion of the interview? RST. Did the cog trainer once or twice a day. My highest scores were 750-850 (90%+ accuracy). I did not do the 15-day checklist. Just did practice JKT tests and read the T-34 training manual and a few other resources on RST.
Technical Test Questions You’re on a 15-mile final and the PAPI is showing 3 whites. What do you do?
What does a generator control unit do?
What was the hardest technical question or content you experienced during the job knowledge test? There were 6 that I wasn’t sure about. I can’t remember them all, but the two hardest are above.
Cog Test Easier than the RST trainer except that the tests are in a completely different order. I got the math test toward the beginning.
Cog Math Questions I can’t remember exactly. I think I had 3 math problems. Completely different from RST’s. Guessed on each one. Amy said you can completely fail the math portion and still pass, but still try to do your best.
HR Questions What is one skill you’d like to improve as a pilot? TMAAT you made a critical decision. TMAAT another crewmember showed up not prepared to fly.
How long prior to the interview did you prepare for the HR portion of the interview? 2 weeks
Which HR Prep service did you use and did it help? Emerald Coast, and yes!
Any additional information you would like to add.
Is their anything you wish you could have done different to prepare you for this process? Get as much SBI practice as you can.
