General Overview of Experience Awesome experience, just wished I had paid more attention and left with a CJO

How many internal recs did you have? 1-2
How long was it from the time of your invite to the actual interview? 4 weeks
Did you have any issues with logbooks, application or paperwork? NONE, do yourself a favor and get this stuff perfect now, don’t do what I did and find errors at the last minute and take away from precious study time.
How did you prepare for the JKT/COG portion of the interview? Studied RST, T34 manual, Everything Explained
Technical Test Questions There was really none that I recognized from RST, I agree knowing the concepts was key. The hardest part of the JKT to me was the way the questions and answers were worded, very confusing and hard to pick a right answer. Lots of AERO and AERO theory. This is what cost me the job, this test is a beast is you get a tough batch of questions, which I feel I did. REMEMBER to hit the submit button, I did not realize this has to be done, I thought when the test timed out it captured what you had and while I was reviewing one of the many questions I wanted to go back to I basically lost track of time and it suddenly timed out. That means been though I probably did better than I thought I got a ZERO outta 60!!! I was one of 3 that this happened to and NONE of us got CJO’s. Take this to heart guys/gals because trust me when you have to come home that night and tell your family you just blew your dream job after a month of nonstop prep and look yourself and the mirror knowing you blew it and who knows if you will ever get the chance again/how you will perform if you do is not something I want anyone else going through. Good news is I now have the ULTIMATE TMAAT you did something dumb/would never do again/etc. story. Take away from this to READ every direction EXTREMELY CAREFULLY and don’t get caught up trying to make everything perfect cause that can cost you the CJO.
What was the hardest technical question or content you experienced during the job knowledge test? Something to the effect of how does ratio of LIFT/DRAG change when reducing AOA versus L/D MAX, none of the answers made any sense. Also a question about Dihedral that made no sense.
Cog Test BE CAREFUL, I really got killed on the guest the rule due to its differences with the trainer, the rest the trainer was great for. I got thru 5 math, definitely got 1 wrong, all %’s and fractions. The localizer/number recall will not let you select a number until after the number disappears and it goes FAST! The memorize the symbols box goes away in like 2 seconds so be ready. Felt good about the COG but knew I really screwed up the guess the rule.
Cog Math Questions All percentages and fractions.
HR Questions This was the easiest part for me, I just answered exactly what I would do and verbalized my thought processes. The panel made me feel very comfortable and they knew I was nervous but I went in there knowing I failed the JKT so that didn’t help. I can tell you this when they asked if I had help preparing I answered honestly yes and could tell the HR person did not like it. These are professional HR people with decades of experience so if you are not yourself, answer dishonestly or add or subtract from a story you are done. I cannot overemphasize being yourself and being humble. I was so wrecked cause I knew I had failed JKT that I knew I had nothing to lose so I just dumped the prep and said exactly how I would handle/have handled the situations they asked me. Be ready to talk about the soft spots/weak points on your app they are gonna ask. Don’t try to explain it away just tell them what happened and what you learned from it.
How long prior to the interview did you prepare for the HR portion of the interview?
Which HR Prep service did you use and did it help? ECIC and yes it was a huge help cause it makes you think about all the stuff that has happened in your career and how to effectively communicate about it.
Any additional information you would like to add. Please read every direction carefully, I have heard that it used to be when the test timed out you were graded but that this changed and now you have to hit submit, It doesn’t matter now for me cause I have to wait 6 months to hopefully get another chance but I can tell you make sure you follow every direction to the letter.
Is their anything you wish you could have done different to prepare you for this process? Studied AERO way more, I was so caught up in the math when I should have been studying AERO/ELECTRICAL/ENGINES.
What can we do to improve our services? Update COG trainer to be more accurate on Guess the rule, thiers is a beep/bong when its wrong that sounds very much like RST’s you got it right. This threw me at first and I never recovered. Also change # recap to flash faster the 1/2/3.
Concepts not covered by RST I found the AERO ?s I got very confusing complicated. Next time I will know everything about LIFT/DRAG/AOA/DIHEDRAL/CP/CL etc.
