What is your experience? other
Total Flight Time 5,000-8,000
Total Turbine PIC Time >2,000
General Overview of Experience Awesome experience. They tell you from the beginning that they really want to hire you. Amy was amazing in helping you to feel relaxed. She’s actually quite the comedian. Same with everyone from the panel and SBI interviews. Everyone was really nice and welcoming.
How long did you have your application in before you received an invite? 1-6 months
Did you attend a job fair? No
Did you do anything special that triggered the interview invitation? We were told that along with certain criteria they were looking for, recently of experience and regular app updates were a big part of getting the call. If you hadn’t updated your app in the last 30 days that was an automatic filter.
How many internal recs did you have? 1-2
How long was it from the time of your invite to the actual interview? 4 weeks
Did you have any issues with logbooks, application or paperwork? None.
How did you prepare for the JKT/COG portion of the interview? RST. Pretty much everything RST had to offer on the website I inhaled. Practiced the COG once a day. Did the COG webinar. Also studies ANA and EFTPP.
Technical Test Questions The tech questions were basically as advertised. No surprises. Out of 60 I had 11 total that made me think. And only 3 of those that I didn’t know the answer to. I felt very prepared and confident as I went though the test. I think someone said that 700 questions were added to the test bank? We were told that the bank consisted of 750 questions that have been there for years. I think that whomever thought there was new questions added may have misunderstood? Either way the test felt pretty easy and I really didn’t think there was much I hadn’t received some training on during my studies.
What was the hardest technical question or content you experienced during the job knowledge test? Really can’t remember specifics. Most all questions you could narrow down between two answers. 1 Jepp chart question, maybe 2 calculations, one question on which way to turn after crossing a fix. All the rest aero and systems or engines. It’s important to understand though that your test is a random selection of the bank. My test was very different from the other guys in my group. Again though felt very confident from the prep through RST.
Cog Test Piece of cake. The only difficulty I had was trying to keep the plane centered while determining the previous number. Mainly becomes I practiced doing the centering with speed fingers and trying to slow down was hard. Made it work though.
Cog Math Questions Fairly easy. I had heard that each question would time out so you had to answer really quickly. Not the case. I think I answered 3 and know for sure I got 2 correct. I just took my time.
HR Questions Just an hour conversation. Very comfortable and professional. TMAAT you had a Serious problem and had to make a choice between many different decisions that were seemingly the same? WWYD if you had an FO that was shutting down because you have had to correct him multiple times?
How long prior to the interview did you prepare for the HR portion of the interview? 3 weeks.
Which HR Prep service did you use and did it help? Emerald Coast. The service was very helpful for the SBI and helping me to understand that I am marketing myself.
Any additional information you would like to add. This process seems daunting at first. There were times that I wondered if it was all worth it. I owe the entirety of my success to my Father in Heaven. I do believe though that he allowed me to be successful by following the RST and Emerald Coast programs. I worked probably 8 hours a day for 5-6 weeks. I was nervous going in but felt very confident through each respective test. Because of the success rate of these companies I put trust in the process and figured if it didn’t work, it wasn’t for me. Work hard and do your best. Follow the program and look for help from your spiritual source.
Is their anything you wish you could have done different to prepare you for this process? No. But I will add to know about the company you are interviewing for. Who’s the CEO? What’s the companies story? FeEx is huge on caring for others and mentorship. Know domicile and aircraft info. Read about charity work, goals and community outreach. There is a copy of FedEx fatigue risk mitigation plan online. Read it and understand what they are talking about.
What can we do to improve our services? Service was amazing. At times I would get a little frustrated because of some conflicting info, however this made me look a little harder to figure out the correct answer. Which in turn actually helped me to understand it better.
Concepts not covered by RST Can’t think of anything.
