Which Airline did you interview with? FedEx
How many days between invite, interview, and listed availability? ~2 months between invite and interview
Did you receive a job offer? Yes
If you did not receive the CJO why do you think you weren’t chosen to continue in the process? N/A
What is your experience? 121 and 135
Total Flight Time 5,000-8,000
Total Turbine PIC Time 1,000-2,000
General Overview of Experience Both days at Module D were great. The folks that run this process are friendly and precise. Day 1 is a tour of AOTC, then COG, NEO PI-R, and JKT. They brief you well about all three tests. Listen to their every word! If successful your phone will ring between 5-6PM. Day 2 is SBI and panel interview. Again, listen to their briefings. The info they give you is invaluable.
How long did you have your application in before you received an invite? 6-12 months
Did you attend a job fair? No
Did you do anything special that triggered the interview invitation? Not that I know of. I had zero internal recs. Just updated my flight times after every trip.
Please disregard the internal recs selection.
How many internal recs did you have? 1-2
How long was it from the time of your invite to the actual interview? 4 weeks
Did you have any issues with logbooks, application or paperwork? None. Be deliberate with documents and logbook. I still have the “old school” logbooks and tabbed all training and type events (no issues and was not asked about them). Application paperwork was neat, signed, and in the order they asked for in pilotcredentials (again no issues).
How did you prepare for the JKT/COG portion of the interview? RST is priceless for these two tests. I followed the 15 day start, then moved to and completed the all the ground school modules, watched the videos, completed all the extra quiz areas, then finished with flashcards. Took the COG trainer 3 times/week at the time my testing was scheduled.
Technical Test Questions JKT- DO NOT memorize the questions. The internal JKT did not have anything verbatim. KNOW the concepts. Live, eat, breath the concepts. 80% aerodynamics, 19% systems, 1% math for me. Talking to the others in my group, those %’s can and will change per individual.
What was the hardest technical question or content you experienced during the job knowledge test? Calculating lead radial on an arc.
Cog Test COG- Is an Apple IIe looking interface of RST’s COG. That said, most everything was slower/easier except for the cog math. RST’s COG is fantastic. Do watch the recorded webinar of the COG.
Cog Math Questions I’m terrible at that style of math. I think I got 1 correct out of 5. I could have spent more time on this but as they look at all three portions to determine your access to day 2, I opted to focus on the JKT portion and wave the white flag at this.
HR Questions I didn’t get any “What would you do?” style questions. Mine were all TMAAT style.

Any questions you’d like to ask us?
How long prior to the interview did you prepare for the HR portion of the interview? 20 days, every day, up to the day I arrived in MEM. Just chilled in the room after a workout and meal.
Which HR Prep service did you use and did it help?
Any additional information you would like to add. DO NOT can your answers. The hiring group here wants to get to know you and could make your panel quite uncomfortable if you don’t give them legit answers(which I’m guessing they can spot by your body language before you open your pie hole). Make your answers personal and specific to YOU and how they help showcase why you would be valuable to sit next to when faced with a safety/operational/personnel issue. Also, could they see themselves sitting next to you for a month.
Listen to every. single. word. when they are briefing you and try to enjoy the process. It is an amazing place with amazing people.
Is there anything you wish you could have done different to prepare you for this process? nothing.
