General Overview of Experience | Anyone who does a virtual interview on/after 1/24 doesn’t have formal HR panel in person now. Great tour of the facility, LOI felt laid back and they seemed like they enjoyed roll playing – they’ll eat up your clock a bit if you let them, they want to see that you can politely hustle them along. Logbook review felt like we were just talking aviation – have Turbine PIC breakdown by type as well as the timeline breakdown of hours. Asked why SWA after both LOI and Logbook review, didn’t really talk about culture (I’ve heard that is viewed as a bit of a cop-out) I mostly focused on the performance of the company and the QOL/work life balance being important to me as I start a family. |
How long did you have your application in before you received an invite? | 12 months + |
Did you attend a job fair? | No |
Did you do anything special that triggered the interview invitation? | Nope – 6th or 7th window I’ve applied to over the past few years. |
How many internal recs did you have? | 3-4 |
How long was it from the time of your invite to the actual interview? | 4 weeks |
Did you have any issues with logbooks, application or paperwork? | I had the timeline breakdown printed out (Total Time, Jet PIC, Instructor time, Past 12 months, 13-24 months, 25-36 months, preceding 36 months, preceding 5 years) but I didn’t have a breakdown of PIC time in each model of jet I’ve flown so I had to add that up real fast. I note unusual occurrences in my logbook so they asked about a go-around and a return to gate. They asked why SWA and if I had my apps out elsewhere (my airline apps account expired, I told them I wasn’t going to renew it unless they gave me the TBNT, they got a kick out of that). |
