Which Airline did you interview with? | FedEx |
How many days between invite, interview, and listed availability?
Did you receive a job offer? | Yes |
If you did not receive the CJO why do you think you weren’t chosen to continue in the process?
What is your experience? | 121 and 135 |
Total Flight Time | Greater |
Total Turbine PIC Time | 1,000-2,000 |
General Overview of Experience | Considering how stressed you are going into the whole interview process, FedEx does a great job to make you feel wanted and everyone does their best to help you relax. Everyone that I met who worked there, just loves the company and made you feel welcome and was happy to have you there. |
How long did you have your application in before you received an invite? | 12 months + |
Did you attend a job fair? | No |
Did you do anything special that triggered the interview invitation? | Possibly updating application more frequently. It sounds like updating your app regularly is very important for getting the invite. |
How many internal recs did you have? | 1-2 |
How long was it from the time of your invite to the actual interview? | 4 weeks |
Did you have any issues with logbooks, application or paperwork? | No |
How did you prepare for the JKT/COG portion of the interview? | RST is definitely the way to prepare for the COG. The actual test is a little different due to the touch screen and graphics, but I was well prepared for the test. I also used RST for JKT, I went through all their ground school prep, videos and practice questions. I reviewed the AIM, EEPP, and Turbine Pilot Flight Manual. |
Technical Test Questions | As many have said before, make sure you know the subject matter. There were only a few questions that were verbatim from practice questions, but rather you had to know the subject. I don’t think I had any questions about weather, and only a couple about descent planning with crossing restrictions. Had quite a few about turbine engines, flight controls and flaps, as well as holding entries and tracking/position dealing with NDB’s. |
What was the hardest technical question or content you experienced during the job knowledge test? | I can’t remember specifics, but there were about 10 questions I marked to come back to so I could take a closer look and narrow my response to best possible answer. |
Cog Test | Pretty straight forward although I did feel like a couple of tests were harder than RST. The test were you have the 2 Tetris blocks and then have to remember which one is the same, I thought went faster and you didn’t have as much time to study the blocks. |
Cog Math Questions | A lot of questions dealing with percentages. I was trying to work quickly before the time would run out on a question so I usually just felt like I was guessing. |
HR Questions | They start of with general questions just to get to know you and your background and history. Multiple questions about fatigue, define it, your personal symptoms, how you mitigate it. WWYD if your captain showed up to work visibly fatigued? WWYD if your FO showed up visibly fatigued? |
How long prior to the interview did you prepare for the HR portion of the interview? | 3 weeks |
Which HR Prep service did you use and did it help? | Emerald Coast. It was very helpful to get ready for putting your key points together and answering questions. Extremely helpful for preparing for the SBI, and being able to take whatever scenario you get and handle it step by step in the fastest 8 minutes of your life. |
Any additional information you would like to add. | It is a great group of people that you will work with through the whole interview process! Every single person was extremely friendly and professional and did their best to try and help you relax so you can be yourself and perform your best. Of course that is easier said than done, but you really do feel welcome and wanted there. Be sure and do the RST ground school, I think it really does help to get your head back into the subject areas you might not have studied in a while. |
Is their anything you wish you could have done different to prepare you for this process?
What can we do to improve our services?
