General Overview of Experience Delta hiring team was super professional!! They put you at ease and really just try to get to know you.
How long did you have your application in before you received an invite? 1-6 months
Did you attend a job fair? No
Did you do anything special that triggered the interview invitation? Attended Delta ATP/CTP course.
How many internal recs did you have? 5+
How long was it from the time of your invite to the actual interview? 8 weeks
Did you have any issues with logbooks, application or paperwork? No issues with any of the paperwork. I just handed in the 2 stacks in the correct order. No paperclips or folders were used.
Technical Test Questions I completed the RST 15 day course twice. I also skimmed the EEPP book. Everything on the test was a variation of the information that RST covers.
Most questions dealt with aerodynamics.
-TAS, IAS, Mach number
-Requirements to execute MAP on a circling approach
-Edgeway lighting for runway remaining
-Jet engine questions
-2 holding questions
-1 descent question
-1 airfield lighting question
What was the hardest technical question or content you experienced during the job knowledge test? Question about what creates a floating effect when in ground effect. No option to select reduction of induced drag or wingtip vortices. Two of the answers were definitely wrong. Remaining answers were 1. vortex drag or 2. Inertia.
Four or five other questions showing no apparent correct answer. Picked the one that seemed least incorrect.
HR Questions -Tell us about yourself in 5 minutes starting with high school
-Tell us about your poor grade in English Composition junior year
-Tell us about your two flight training failures
-What is your proudest accomplishment?
-These flights are long and boring. How are you going to adjust after flying military aircraft for so long?
-How are you going to deal with a CA that is younger than you?
-WWYD if you are the First Officer and the Captain was lined up for the wrong runway? Not willing to execute a Go-Around.
-WWYD if you are the Captain and witness two flight attendants in an argument. How would you handle the situation?
-WWYD. Loud bang reported by flight attendant shortly after takeoff.
Cog Test Cog alternate training resources were more than adequate. Watched the video, played the PEBL, luminosity and happy neuron games. Delta Cog test was very easy.
How long prior to the interview did you prepare for the HR portion of the interview? 8 weeks
Which HR Prep service did you use and did it help? Emerald Coast. Attended 1 seminar, 1 webinar and 1 top off. Great Service!
