Which Airline did you interview with? Delta Air Lines
How many days between invite, interview, and listed availability?
Did you receive a job offer? Yes
If you did not receive the CJO why do you think you weren’t chosen to continue in the process?
What is your experience? 121 only
Total Flight Time Greater
Total Turbine PIC Time
General Overview of Experience Delta really does a great job of making you feel welcome and everyone is very friendly. The emphasis by the Captain who was filling in for Captain Kraby that day was “relax and be confident.” The Delta Flight Museum is also a must to check out if you have time during the process.
How long did you have your application in before you received an invite?
Did you attend a job fair?
Did you do anything special that triggered the interview invitation?
How many internal recs did you have?
How long was it from the time of your invite to the actual interview?
Did you have any issues with logbooks, application or paperwork?
How did you prepare for the JKT/COG portion of the interview?
Technical Test Questions The technical questions seemed a little tougher than I’d thought…cannot over-emphasize KNOW THE CONCEPTS. The practice tests/quizzes/study guides here on RST are a great tool to point you in the right direction, without them, I wouldn’t have know the depth/degree of the material I had to study.
What was the hardest technical question or content you experienced during the job knowledge test? One of the math questions related to descent planning, while I know I KNEW how to solve it, my brain just wasn’t firing during that question (I think due to nerves), so with only a minute or so left on the test, I had to eenie-meenie-miney-mo it on this last one.
Cog Test Cannot over-emphasize how valuable the cog trainer as well as the cog webinars were on RST here. The real test is a little easier than the trainers are here, just the look is different as far as graphics, etc. The trainers here seem like Mac OS whereas the real test seems like MS-DOS.
Cog Math Questions
HR Questions I had a current captain, retired captain, and lady from HR to interview me. They were wonderful with helping me relax and be more confident. Do not over-think the HR too much; while it is important to prepare, JUST BE YOURSELF. Another thing with questions, both WWYD and TMAAT, include the “human aspect” of the story, how passengers were affected/dealt with…they like hearing that stuff.
How long prior to the interview did you prepare for the HR portion of the interview?
Which HR Prep service did you use and did it help? Emerald Coast…for sure, though I didn’t go through the entire program, watched a few videos and did a webinar.
Any additional information you would like to add. Cannot thank Tito and the RST team enough for helping me more…I’ll be recommending you guys like crazy!
Is their anything you wish you could have done different to prepare you for this process?
