Which Airline did you interview with? Delta
How many days between invite, interview, and listed availability? 6 weeks from invite to interview
Did you include volunteer work in your application?
Did you receive a job offer? No 6, months re-invite, HR Failure
If you did not receive the CJO why do you think you weren’t chosen to continue in the process? HR failure. I don’t think I did a good job answering some of the WWYD questions. I think my attempts to collaborate (ask FA, FO, Gate Agent etc for opinions) came across as wanting someone else to make the decision.
What is your experience? Military, 121
Total Flight Time 2,000-3,000
Total Turbine PIC Time
TPIC 121 hours 0
TPIC Military hours 1000-2000
TPIC 91/135 0
General Overview of Experience As everyone has said, Delta was very welcoming. I did not experience any bad cop, good cop. The HR panel was very friendly and made a joke about writing down how I sat in the chair and if I hung up my jacket or not. I was pressed on my answers and they tried to make me doubt myself, but it was done in a nice way if that makes sense.
How long did you have your application in before you received an invite? 12 months +
Did you attend a job fair? Yes
Did you do anything special that triggered the interview invitation? Job fair last October
How many internal recs did you have? 3-4
How long was it from the time of your invite to the actual interview? 6 weeks
Did you have any issues with logbooks, application or paperwork? No issues. I handed in my green ARMS folder and FEF as-is. I printed off my electronic logbook for 121 and signed each page. Zero questions about it.
How did you prepare for the JKT/COG portion of the interview? RST. COG was much easier. Be careful not too relax too much. It was so much easier I actually went slow on the first part and had to make myself hurry.
JKT was tough. Maybe 5 questions that I had to eliminate wrong answers because I didn’t know what they were asking.
Technical Test Questions A couple descents and lead radials
Some turbine system
One airport diagram
What was the hardest technical question or content you experienced during the job knowledge test? There was one that was weirdly worded. I had to look at the answers and eliminate the ones that didn’t fit.
Cog Test Mostly like RST. Just get comfortable with The cog trainer and you will do fine.
Cog Math Questions
HR Questions No TMAATs
Picked over my application asking questions about my history: college choice, current flying, checkride failure, etc.
WWYD questions:
20 meals short and it will take 30 minutes to get them
FA says passengers are drunk, Gate agent says they are okay and VIP’s
Female CA flying slow every leg
FA heard loud bang climbing through 10,000’
How long prior to the interview did you prepare for the HR portion of the interview? Been preparing off and on for a year
Which HR Prep service did you use and did it help? I have used ECIC in the past. Definitely helped and was a confidence booster.
Any additional information you would like to add.
Is there anything you wish you could have done different to prepare you for this process? I wish I would have gone over more WWYD questions. At the job fair, we were told that we didn’t need interview prep for the HR and that it made everyone sound canned. So I backed off of the ECIC. I think that was a mistake.
