Technical Test Questions Know the CONCEPTS with RST. Although the questions are similar, they are definitely more detailed and the answers on many of the questions were very close together (i.e. Pick the most correct). My test had a significant amount of aerodynamics, only one bearing pointer question, 3 jet questions, zero weather questions, and several other Jepp Chart or airport lighting questions (30 degree intercept at 17 miles to the VASI and 1 red / 3 white – wwyd), and 2 math/ descent questions.
What was the hardest technical question or content you experienced during the job knowledge test? Nothing in specific that stands out.
Cog Test RST.
Be like Nike – Just Do It.
Cog Math Questions Simpler than RST. Very straightforward.
HR Questions I felt as if the overall theme was they know that you have the gouge from either RST or ECIC for the type of HR questions. My two gentlemen were both prior service, a very much did not want canned answers. My suggestion- practice your introduction but be prepared to tell them about something that isn’t on the resume in under two minutes. Additionally, I believe it is part of being the luck of the draw, my two interviewers were not overwhelmingly warm and or friendly (everyone in my interview class that had these guys had similar experiences). They were strictly old-school, they took notes, but gave no indication or any type of body language during or after answers. They will dig. Keep answering the questions and don’t get tripped up. I believe that some would have considered it a hostile interview with some of the questions that were posed. However, I believe that the interviewers are genuinely there to find out who you really are. Not the “Interview You” – but the REAL You. Just be yourself and you’ll be fine.
How long prior to the interview did you prepare for the HR portion of the interview? 4 weeks
Which HR Prep service did you use and did it help? ECIC – Great group of guys who really have their stuff squared away and one sock. However, do not use canned answers in your interview at Big Purple. They know that you have the gouge, but really want to know your answers – not the answers from ECIC. Use the tools and concepts from ECIC on how to answer questions – but do not come up with “canned answers”.
Any additional information you would like to add. Study the COG. Do the prep work. Find success.
It’s not easy. But anything in life that’s worth having , is worth working for.
Is their anything you wish you could have done different to prepare you for this process? Nope.
What can we do to improve our services? Nope. Great job. The COG is spot on. The Ground School will definitely help prepare you.
Concepts not covered by RST Only one – AOA vs. ITM, i.e. ” What does AOA do when you climb at a constant Mach relative or TAS and IAS.”
