Did you receive a job offer? Waiting to hear back
If you did not receive the CJO why do you think you weren’t chosen to continue in the process? N/A
What is your experience? Military
Total Flight Time 2,000-3,000
Total Turbine PIC Time >2,000
General Overview of Experience Every FedEx employee that I interacted with was very nice and extremely welcoming. Every single one said “we’re happy that you’re here” after meeting them. They do everything they can legally do to try to put you at ease and get you hired.
How long did you have your application in before you received an invite? 6-12 months
Did you attend a job fair? No
Did you do anything special that triggered the interview invitation? No. I had 0 recommendations. It says 1-2 recs below because 0 was not an option.
How many internal recs did you have? 1-2
How long was it from the time of your invite to the actual interview? 4 weeks
Did you have any issues with logbooks, application or paperwork? No
How did you prepare for the JKT/COG portion of the interview? I practiced with the COG trainer every couple of days. More importantly, I watched the COG Test webinar that had some great pointers about the actual test. I also read most of the material outlined in the 15 day program and took the practice tests and reviewed the flash cards.
Technical Test Questions It is important to know the concepts and the big picture. I didn’t see very many questions that closely matched the questions from the practice tests. However, the practice tests were helpful in preparing for the test.
What was the hardest technical question or content you experienced during the job knowledge test? A question with a lot of info about the current state of an aircraft in flight, and the question asked what time you should leave holding.
Cog Test Watch the COG Test webinar and practice, and you’ll be fine.
Cog Math Questions They required some thought and quick mental math. The practice test helps you to prepare, but it seems like you’re either going to be good at it, or you’re not.
HR Questions The panel interview was the best part of the whole trip. They do everything they can to try to put you at ease. There is no HR rep in the room, and they remind you that it is just 3 pilots having a conversation. Multiple interviewers mentioned multiple times throughout the day how much they can’t stand canned answers. Just be yourself. There were no off the wall questions.
How long prior to the interview did you prepare for the HR portion of the interview? It’s hard to say. Most of my time before the interview was spent studying for the JKT.
Which HR Prep service did you use and did it help? Emerald Coast. It helped with the big picture, but the phone top off was not representative of what the interview was like. That’s not to say it wasn’t helpful in getting me to organize my thoughts.
Any additional information you would like to add. N/A
Is their anything you wish you could have done different to prepare you for this process? No
