General Overview of Experience Like all the other reports say, everyone is very nice, inviting, and try to put you at ease. All the pressure and tension is self induced. The most stressful/uneasy part of the whole process for me was waiting to find out if I made the cut.
How long did you have your application in before you received an invite? 12 months +
Did you attend a job fair? Yes
Did you do anything special that triggered the interview invitation? I think the Delta open house got me the look.
How many internal recs did you have? 0
How long was it from the time of your invite to the actual interview? 6 weeks
Did you have any issues with logbooks, application or paperwork? None
How did you prepare for the JKT/COG portion of the interview? RST. I did the 15 day checklist for my first interview. For the 6-7 months I was waiting for my reinterview I would read through the topical study guides and do the flash cards to keep my knowledge up.
RST for the cog.
Technical Test Questions The tech questions were a blur. Like most people I felt like it kicked my butt.
What was the hardest technical question or content you experienced during the job knowledge test? again, can’t remember any specifics.
Cog Test
Cog Math Questions
HR Questions Started off with everyone introducing them selves followed by me doing my introduction. Then went on to ask questions tailored to my app.
Aside from being away from family what do you thing is a downside of the job?
How do you feel about commuting/how would you deal with it?
Passenger sees their dog sitting on the ramp and not loaded WWYD?
Getting off the bus you pass a friend and smell alcohol, bus pulls away with them on it WWYD? Follow up question of TMAT you had to track down a crew member/employee
How long prior to the interview did you prepare for the HR portion of the interview? I started to prep when I got my initial invite so I had about 8-9 months of doing webinars with Emerald Coast
Which HR Prep service did you use and did it help? Emerald Coast. It definitely helped me. I did at least 1 webinar a month during my 6 month waiting period and it definitely made me feel more comfortable about telling my stories and making them more conversational.
Any additional information you would like to add. Day 2 questions from psychologist:
Tell me about your childhood growing up
Who was your role model growing up
Tell me about your leadership style
What are your strenths
What is a weakness of yours
What would someone/significant other say is your best quality…. worst quality
Tell me about when you broke a rule
Tell me about a stressful situation in your personal life
tell me about a stressful situation in your professional career
Do you have any trouble with law enforcement
Tell me about your recreational use of drugs and alcohol
typing that out seems like a lot of questions, but it went by very quick. I only met with them for about 20min and it was very laid back and conversational. No real follow up questions or poking/prodding like in the HR portion of the interview
If i had to do a break down of the necessary study, in my opinion, it would be 70% HR 25%JKT 5%cog (maybe even less). The cog is not something to fear or worry about. It is very straight forward and pretty easy with the practice you are allotted while taking the test
Is there anything you wish you could have done different to prepare you for this process? Been this prepared on the first attempt, and done it right the first time. If i had to do a break down of the necessary study, in my opinion, it would be 70% HR 25%JKT 5%cog (maybe even less). The cog is not something to fear or worry about. It is very straight forward and pretty easy with the practice you are allotted while taking the test
