Cog Math Questions
HR Questions Tell us how you got here today?
Tell us about your first solo
A question about a logbook entry (type of aircraft was all)
Why you chose your College
Any ride failures
during boarding, captain has a buddy in jump seat and makes fun of FA who was in earshot, what do you do
Emergency experience flying
1st class pax and has an extra bag over the allowable limit and won’t fit
How long prior to the interview did you prepare for the HR portion of the interview?
Which HR Prep service did you use and did it help? RST- extremely helpful
Emerald Coast, I did a Webinar and got a top off 4 days prior.
Any additional information you would like to add. If you stay at the Hilton I would walk to Headquarters instead of taking Van. Take a left as you walk out the hotel, continue to a stop light. Take a right and walk 150 feet until you reach a second stop light. Continue to go straight (100ft) and head towards the guard shack to get your security badge. Takes 5 mins. Most the time is waiting for long stop lights.
I was pretty overwhelmed with the amount of study material from my friends and websites. I did not start studying hard for the interview until roughly 3 weeks out. I read ANA and Everything explained.
If I had to do it all over again I would have liked to go to a live Emerald coast seminar ( I couldn’t because loads to DTW were horrible) so I should have signed up early so I would give myself a few chances to get to one.
I would read T34 guide
Read Everything Explained
RST and go through all flashcards until I felt comfortable/memorized
Topical study guides be familiar with them
Do practice JKT’s and Math Trainer (you learn a lot of mental math tricks there)
Cog trainer do once every other day. If you do multiple tests back to back I believe it becomes counter productive. The end I was averaging around 2100-2200
HR just be yourself. They are getting very tired of interviewees going in giving autopilot answers. My HR was more a discussion than anything.
Reading Ride reports every few days was also very helpful and calmed my nerves. I thank all those prior to me who posted and interacted with on RSTfacebook.
I had 4 logbooks. The first two up until I got hired by my first 121 gig were pretty sloppy in my opinion. Doing it all over again I strongly suggest biting the bullet and doing electronic. I was very worried about my logbooks because they didn’t match Airline Apps. I was about 50 hours higher on my total time in my logbooks compared to Airline Apps. I had a very simple cover page with my totals (Total time, PIC JET, Multi-engine, SIC). I put a lettered tag under each check ride and when I upgraded. (I think mine was A-F They didn’t ask any questions about it, but I did lose a lot of sleep thinking about it.
Is their anything you wish you could have done different to prepare you for this process?
