General Overview of Experience Experience was overall good. Day one cog was easier than I expected. Very little no no math equations. No holding questions. Just basic aviation type questions.
Interview day 2 was formal and straight forward. LOI was straight forward but very much a time crunch. They will keep changing the scenario so you have to re evaluate options and make a decision within the last minute. Then brief your plan of attack. Debrief should be spent explaining I guess your thought process and why you did (or maybe didn’t) do what you did.
HR was good cop bad cop. They dug into me right off the bat regarding my logbooks. They say the interview hasn’t started, but the interview started as soon as you walk in the room even when they are trying to be your friend. My logbooks were perfect but one guy said he had a problem with a few things.
How long did you have your application in before you received an invite? 12 months +
Did you attend a job fair? Yes
Did you do anything special that triggered the interview invitation? I went to women in aviation but did not get a fast pass for Fedex. We were all tile that the job fair and people who sponsored us did nothing to get us there. It was all a function of our experience. Everyone there had 10k+ flight hours and long list of accomplishments.
How many internal recs did you have? 3-4
How long was it from the time of your invite to the actual interview? 4 weeks
Did you have any issues with logbooks, application or paperwork? Yes. They were not happy I did my logbooks month by month and not every day. I am positive they were making up these issues to get me flustered and uncomfortable.
Southwest loved my log books and I was offered a job with them as well.
How did you prepare for the JKT/COG portion of the interview? Lots and lots of practice exams after following the entire syllabus.
Technical Test Questions Na
What was the hardest technical question or content you experienced during the job knowledge test? Several could be narrowed down to two answeres. They were extremely similar and worded almost identically.
There was one question about fuel tank cross feeding. I was not at all familiar with how the question talked about fuel pumps and logistics associated with them.
Cog Test Hardest part was remembering symbols to numbers in the delayed recall test.
Cog Math Questions Only one simple descent distance question. Nothing that required a calculator.
