Which Airline did you interview with? FedEx
How many days between invite, interview, and listed availability?
Did you receive a job offer? Yes
If you did not receive the CJO why do you think you weren’t chosen to continue in the process? NA
What is your experience? other
Total Flight Time 4,000-5,000
Total Turbine PIC Time 1,000-2,000
General Overview of Experience Fantastic!
They really do put you at ease (as much as possible for the biggest interview of our careers)!(My experience, mostly Part 91 with 2 years Part 135.)
How long did you have your application in before you received an invite? 6-12 months
Did you attend a job fair? No
Did you do anything special that triggered the interview invitation? Internal rec from non-flight personnel may have triggered it.
Constantly updating definitely helped! Even our test admin told us that, update at least once a month but the more frequently the better. I updated at least once a week, more so when I flew more.
How many internal recs did you have? 1-2
How long was it from the time of your invite to the actual interview? 4 weeks
Did you have any issues with logbooks, application or paperwork? Missing 1st logbook; good explanation along with with legitimate and conservative numbers (hours to years to experience comparison) and they had no questions about it.
How did you prepare for the JKT/COG portion of the interview? Lumosity and RST.
RST has the tests almost exactly as we experienced them. RST uses a longer clock but controls are nearly identical.
TAKE YOUR TIME, practice as much as you need to before starting the tests. Better to be slightly slow and accurate than fast and miss a lot. (not too slow though).
Technical Test Questions Nothing surprising just get the SUBJECTS and CONCEPTS down more than the actual questions.
I read the Navy study guide, remember the answers to the self check are at the back of the book.
I also read the AIM in general sections (ILS, Airways, etc).
What was the hardest technical question or content you experienced during the job knowledge test? I had a couple concerning center of pressure and CG along with dihedral and speeds that made my brain spin.
You can narrow the answers down to 2 usually and best guess if needed.
Cog Test AGIAN, TAKE YOUR TIME, practice as much as you need to before starting the tests. Better to be slightly slow and accurate than fast and miss a lot. (not too slow though).
4 out of 5 of us that day and at least that ratio of the 10 (am and pm groups) did RST and we all felt better than the few that just studied on their own.
Cog Math Questions Simple, its not complex math and our admin reminded us it is a low portion of the total score.
Answer what you can.
HR Questions No major surprises as I prepped with ECIC.
How long prior to the interview did you prepare for the HR portion of the interview? I had about 5 weeks from invite to interview and spent 4 weeks doing ECIC and RST.
Which HR Prep service did you use and did it help? Emerald Coast – start NOW before you get the invite!!!
Any additional information you would like to add.
Is their anything you wish you could have done different to prepare you for this process? I wish the “Ground School” had been available but the 15 day sessions worked well.
What can we do to improve our services? I plan to play with the Ground School to see how it compares to the 15 day sessions (for my buddies that haven’t been called yet.)
This service keeps improving, keep it up!
