Technical Test Questions My profile was SFO to LAX. Was asked a couple of questions on the SID and STAR. Answers were in the chart notes. Was asked a couple of climb and descend via questions along with holding speeds. For my divert, I was given 3 choices. One was an obvious no the other two were feasible. I chose the farthest one to ensure full United services. Weather was good, multiple runways, etc. the only thing he asked me was what I would do if multiple other diverts showed up and I had to hold for a bit. Had a discussion about min and emergency fuel.
My CRM video was a go around scenario where the PM got busy with radios and and didn’t accomplish actions called by the PF. Missed a flap and gear call.
What was the hardest technical question or content you experienced during the job knowledge test? None. The profile was straight forward with no surprises. Just memorize the handout and plan to do all the call outs for both PF and PM.
Cog Test N/A
Cog Math Questions N/A
HR Questions No surprises. Basic intro, TMAAT you had to mentor a junior officer, TMAAT you had a complicated EP and had to work as a crew to resolve. TMAAT you got a team member more involved in the organization. TMAAT you did something that you initially didn’t want to do. Anything to add about yourself or your application? Why United?
How long prior to the interview did you prepare for the HR portion of the interview? One month
Which HR Prep service did you use and did it help? ECIC
Any additional information you would like to add. Great experience. Relax and be yourself.
Is their anything you wish you could have done different to prepare you for this process? No. Focus on the HR prep. For the tech prep, the climb/descend via study guide was sufficient. Would also recommend practicing departure and arrival briefs along with Jepp chart review, especially for those who haven’t worked with Jepp charts in a while.
