Which Airline did you interview with? FedEx Express
How many days between invite, interview, and listed availability? Was sent email invite 4 days before my listed availability; interview was 3 weeks later
Did you receive a job offer? Yes
If you did not receive the CJO why do you think you weren’t chosen to continue in the process? N/A
What is your experience? Military
Total Flight Time 4,000-5,000
Total Turbine PIC Time >2,000
General Overview of Experience FedEx personnel were great. Everyone did their best to make use feel welcome and at ease (as much as possible).
How long did you have your application in before you received an invite? 1-6 months
Did you attend a job fair? No
Did you do anything special that triggered the interview invitation? No idea. I’ve been updating regularly (at least every 2 weeks) since I submitted.
How many internal recs did you have? 3-4
How long was it from the time of your invite to the actual interview? 3 weeks
Did you have any issues with logbooks, application or paperwork? None. They appeared to review it thoroughly, but no questions for me.
How did you prepare for the JKT/COG portion of the interview? RST online. Followed the 15-day plan, plus reviewed many of the technical articles.
Technical Test Questions As most others have said, the questions were slightly different from the RST practice, but covered the same data. So as long as you’re reviewing for content and not trying to memorize answers, it’s easy. There were only 2 questions I was unsure of. One was concerning symbols on a Jepp airport diagram, the others was a “what’s not true in level flight” question. I got it narrowed to 2 choices, but wasn’t sure of the correct one.
What was the hardest technical question or content you experienced during the job knowledge test? See above. The 2 choices I narrowed down to both seemed equally true/not true.
Cog Test If you’ve done the RST ones, you’re ready. Real ones were very similar, although not a long, so not as taxing.
Cog Math Questions Nothing too difficult. Don’t remember specifics, but you have something like 2 minutes for 5 questions.
HR Questions All the stuff you’ve prepared for. Asked me to tell about myself, but leave out the jobs stuff, as they were looking at my resume. A couple TMAAT, and one WWYD. I think they were trying to see where I thought the line was on not doing what a captain asked. I ended up at “if it’s not a safety hazard, and I’ve asked to make sure he/she knows what I know, then I do it.”
How long prior to the interview did you prepare for the HR portion of the interview? Several years. Reviewed it all over the last couple of months.
Which HR Prep service did you use and did it help? ECIC. Definitely! I don’t think there would be any way I would have gotten through without it!
Any additional information you would like to add.
Is their anything you wish you could have done different to prepare you for this process? I should have actually practiced the SBI with someone.
