Which Airline did you interview with? FedEx
How many days between invite, interview, and listed availability? 4 weeks
Did you receive a job offer? Yes
If you did not receive the CJO why do you think you weren’t chosen to continue in the process? N/A
What is your experience? 135
Total Flight Time 3,000-4,000
Total Turbine PIC Time 1,000-2,000
General Overview of Experience Flight instruction and Part 135 PIC in Light and Mid-Size Jets
How long did you have your application in before you received an invite? 12 months +
Did you attend a job fair? No
Did you do anything special that triggered the interview invitation? I did tweak my app with small changes and kept it updated regularly. No internals, but the option below would not let me select 0.
How many internal recs did you have? 1-2
How long was it from the time of your invite to the actual interview? 4 weeks
Did you have any issues with logbooks, application or paperwork? No
How did you prepare for the JKT/COG portion of the interview? RST. Didn’t use Aero for Naval Aviators. The items listed in the 15 day checklist were a good overview.
Technical Test Questions ANP/RNP meanings. Knew RNP but couldn’t recall what ANP was.
What was the hardest technical question or content you experienced during the job knowledge test? There were a few that I had to make educated guesses on but unfortunately I was so nervous I can’t recall them now.
Cog Test The trainer was dead on. I was a bit confused at when to input the answer on recalling the last number test, but got that cleared up in the practice. Was scoring around 760 on the trainer the day before the test.
Cog Math Questions I think they were simpler than the trainer, but really no good way to train other than practicing mental math in general. The percentages tricks do help. I didn’t really have any that were the same setup as the trainer.
HR Questions Don’t give your canned answers, but ECIC was invaluable for getting in the right mindset of how to sell yourself.
How long prior to the interview did you prepare for the HR portion of the interview? 4 weeks. All day every day as work allowed.
Which HR Prep service did you use and did it help? ECIC
Any additional information you would like to add. Anyone coming from smaller aircraft I would suggest spending more time on some larger aircraft systems and the videos in the engineering section more than repeating the aerodynamics so much. BUT some of the guys in my group did have more of a focus on Aero so who knows.
Is their anything you wish you could have done different to prepare you for this process?
