General Overview of Experience Friendly interview experience overall. As others have said, nobody is out to trick you, they all seem like they want you to succeed.
I’d recommend getting to the training center an hour before your interview time so you can check in with security (at the glass building), then make your way over to the cafeteria to wait. The admins will fetch you at T-45.
You’ll gather in a conference room where they give you a copy of your app to go over and make any corrections in red. Just follow the instructions. From there, you will be brought in to the Technical portion which is one-on-one with a Capt. The HR portion is a 2 v 1 with HR and a different Capt asking questions.
How long did you have your application in before you received an invite? 12 months +
Did you attend a job fair? No
Did you do anything special that triggered the interview invitation? No, I’ve had my application in since Nov 2016. Kept updating times every month, and was eventually invited to the Sept 2018 United hiring event. Hogan followed 2 months later, then interview 3 weeks after the Hogan.
How many internal recs did you have? 1-2
How long was it from the time of your invite to the actual interview? 3 weeks
Did you have any issues with logbooks, application or paperwork? No, follow the simple directions. Print out and bring your own copy of your app for easy corrections if necessary. Have 2 copies of your resume for the HR section of the interview.
Technical Test Questions Mock tabletop flight. They’ll show you how to use the EFB, and give you a few minutes to go over WX, NOTAMS, etc. Then you’ll brief the taxi, and SID. A few simple procedural questions about the plates. What altitude would you select in your altitude window? What altitude do you go to if vectored off the SID?
You talk through all the call outs (PF and PM) for a normal takeoff.
Minor malfunction…I passed control to FO and ran the QRH, called dispatch and looped in the FAs.
Briefed the STAR and the approach, with a few more simple questions from the plate.
Call outs for arrival, approach and go around, then went through a simple divert scenario.
This portion was scheduled for an hour, I was done in 37 minutes.
What was the hardest technical question or content you experienced during the job knowledge test? What is the IAF? Pretty simple questions.
HR Questions 5 minute intro.
Any items on your application that need explaining (We talked about my UPT midphase checkride failure).
TMAAT:

-You motivated a team to do something they didn’t want to do

They tell you how they want you to answer the questions: SAR format.
Cog Test
How long prior to the interview did you prepare for the HR portion of the interview? 2 years
Which HR Prep service did you use and did it help? ECIC. Definitely do some kind of prep, your stories probably aren’t as good as you think they are.
