Which Airline did you interview with? Delta
How many days between invite, interview, and listed availability? 1 month
Did you receive a job offer? No 6, months re-invite, HR Failure
If you did not receive the CJO why do you think you weren’t chosen to continue in the process? JKT most likely
What is your experience? 121 only
Total Flight Time 5,000-8,000
Total Turbine PIC Time < 1,000
General Overview of Experience General experience was good until they gave me the six month call back. Previous ride reports are spot on with the layout of the interview day. Meet in lobby, called in for paperwork, briefed by Barry, call for HR ( alphabetical order determines if HR or Testing is first), lunch, testing and then the thanks but no thanks for me.
People were curious and welcoming. In the HR they’ll try and push your buttons to see if it throws you off track. Testing is straight forwarded.
How long did you have your application in before you received an invite? 12 months +
Did you attend a job fair? Yes
Did you do anything special that triggered the interview invitation? Internal rec I think is was triggered it.
How many internal recs did you have? 1-2
How long was it from the time of your invite to the actual interview? 4 weeks
Did you have any issues with logbooks, application or paperwork? No. all paper logbooks. Made up my own 1 page flight and logbooks summary sheet. They said they appreciated the summary sheet.
How did you prepare for the JKT/COG portion of the interview? RST. Studied a ton. 15 day course, flash cards and a ton of quizzes.
Technical Test Questions There is a huge bank of questions that Delta pulls from. Don’t think you’ll know all the questions if you know all the RST questions. I saw many that RST didn’t have. Know what you’re weak in and study.
What was the hardest technical question or content you experienced during the job knowledge test? There were multiple questions that were worded odd and seemed to have two answers that could fit. I had a few questions relating to AOA and the drag curve that were difficult to determine what answer best suited the question. I can’t recall specific questions.
Cog Test Simple and stright forwarded. Felt I did very well. On the balance test with the arrow keys one of my arrow keys got stuck down and sent the thing flying off the edge. Luckily it was on a practice portion. The test proctor came in and fixed it.
Cog Math Questions Had a few that I hadn’t seen before and a few that I had. Read them and know how to do the math because the question can be similar to RSTs bank but uses different numbers. One was 37000 down to 10000. Currently 100 DME cross 10 dme on the other side at 10000
HR Questions Previous reports listed all the questions I got. After you answer the question they ask multiple follow up questions… then what, how would make the PA, do it…. can’t know 100% of the questions they’ll ask because many of the follow up are based on your first answer.
How long prior to the interview did you prepare for the HR portion of the interview? 1 month.
Which HR Prep service did you use and did it help? No professional service. Sat with friends and went over questions and critiqued each other. Felt confident about the HR portion of the interview and it seemed to have went well.
Any additional information you would like to add. COG trainer was very helpful. Bring cash for the lunch. $10 should cover a good sized lunch.
Is their anything you wish you could have done different to prepare you for this process? Dug deeper into the weak knowledge areas
