Which Airline did you interview with? Fedex
How many days between invite, interview, and listed availability? 2 weeks
Did you receive a job offer? 12 months call back
If you did not receive the CJO why do you think you weren’t chosen to continue in the process? Hr/sbi
What is your experience? 121 only
Total Flight Time 5,000-8,000
Total Turbine PIC Time 1,000-2,000
General Overview of Experience Great experience. It is a tough process but everyone is very friendly and really wants you there.
How long did you have your application in before you received an invite? 12 months +
Did you attend a job fair? No
Did you do anything special that triggered the interview invitation? No
How many internal recs did you have? 1-2
How long was it from the time of your invite to the actual interview? 4 weeks
Did you have any issues with logbooks, application or paperwork? They had an older resume and asked why my pic time was so far off from my logbook. I had recent resumes printed and handed those to them. That seemed to be a non issue.
How did you prepare for the JKT/COG portion of the interview? Rst. It was a great help
Technical Test Questions Can’t remember specifics. I marked 15 questions I was unsure of. Most were aerodynamic type questions. Some aircraft system type questions were a little difficult.
What was the hardest technical question or content you experienced during the job knowledge test? Can’t remember
Cog Test Very easy after rst. I was averaging mid 700 on my rst practice scores.
Cog Math Questions Not as difficult.
HR Questions Hr was very straight forward. Know why you want to work at Fedex. Be excited about it. Don’t just tell them your friends work there and like it. Really think why you want to work at Fedex specifically. The guys interviewing you are very proud of their careers and the company. They love Fedex. You should be able to make that come through in your answer. Don’t do emerald coast steps during hypotheticals. They will know and they will roll their eyes and they will change the question.
How long prior to the interview did you prepare for the HR portion of the interview? 8 months
Which HR Prep service did you use and did it help? Emerald coast. It helped somewhat. If you live by the gouge you will die by the gouge. Be yourself. Use it for confidence and getting an idea of what to expect. Don’t use emerald coast formulas and verbiage you hear. They have heard it and they know.
Any additional information you would like to add. The Sbi I think is where I failed. You will get a chance to fix whatever you did during the 8 minutes in the debrief. Make sure you are thorough. Looking back they gave me 3 chances to fix it. I didn’t pick up on it at the time. But after reflecting for 6 hours on the drive home I think if I would have said things during the debrief I would have gotten the cjo.
Is their anything you wish you could have done different to prepare you for this process? I would have done a better job debriefing the sbi.
