Which Airline did you interview with? Fedex
How many days between invite, interview, and listed availability? 4 weeks between invite and interview.
Did you receive a job offer? Yes
If you did not receive the CJO why do you think you weren’t chosen to continue in the process? N/A
What is your experience? 121 only
Total Flight Time Greater
Total Turbine PIC Time 1,000-2,000
General Overview of Experience It was a great experience. Everyone was great and really made you at ease with the process. Day 1 was a drug test at 9:30 and then a report time of 12:30 for computer testing. Mrs. Amy administers the computer test and she is awesome! Makes you feel at home and does everything in her power to make sure you pass. Day 2 is SBI and HR panel interview. This was a great time and everyone you meet is sincerely pulling for you. You’ll get a phone call that day to notify you how it went.
How long did you have your application in before you received an invite? 6-12 months
Did you attend a job fair? No
Did you do anything special that triggered the interview invitation? I was called within 4 months of getting a sponsor and one more internal recommendation but the process has changed since then.
How many internal recs did you have? 1-2
How long was it from the time of your invite to the actual interview? 4 weeks
Did you have any issues with logbooks, application or paperwork? None at all. Took all my logbooks (electronic and hand written.)
How did you prepare for the JKT/COG portion of the interview? RST is a must. By the time I was going to the interview I was scoring between 750-800 with a 90-95% accuracy. Fedex will tell you that the symbol number recall is weighted pretty heavy but if you mess it up it isn’t a deal breaker. (UIOTXL) these are the practice and the real sequence that I had. Just have to do good on the rest of the cog, jet, and personality test. The JKT wasn’t bad at all. Know the concept like most people tell you but the questions aren’t to far off of RST. Just worded a little different. I was scoring between 85-94% on the jkt test. I would highly recommend the ground school portion for aerodynamics and the 149 questions on the quiz. Found a lot of helpful info in that question bank. If you are achieving those scores lay off and start really working on the HR portion. Everyone made it through the test but not the HR.
Technical Test Questions Honestly nothing that cought my be surprise.
What was the hardest technical question or content you experienced during the job knowledge test? Maybe figure out a crossing restriction when to start down. It honestly wasn’t bad.
Cog Test Easy if you use RST. Listen to the webinar on the cog test. That is the most helpful piece of info out there. Then just knock it out. If you are scoring about 850 you are going to fast and you will get out of rythm on the actual test. For example the number delay sequence is a lot slower so if you technique is to go fast you will be thrown off. The numbers flash on the cog test and not on RST so you got to wait for the next number to flash before answering.
Cog Math Questions Easier the RST. Usually only get 3 on RST and could get through 5 on the actual cog.
HR Questions Talked about my grades.
TMAAT you failed as a leader.
When has your interpersonal skills helped you?
Professionalism?
FO has a sloppy uniform. How will you deal with it?
It was more of a conversation then a question answer panel interview. That being said you can put trigger words in your answer and kind of guide the conversation in the direction it will go. For example talking about interpersonal skills and you mention the word professionalism in your answer. Then guess what’s next. Let’s talk about professionalism. This is the time to walk a fine line between letting your guard down so they can see the real you, but don’t let it down too much. I honestly think that people don’t spend enough time prepping for this because you don’t see a tangible number associated with your prep like the cog test and JKT.
How long prior to the interview did you prepare for the HR portion of the interview? 4 weeks
Which HR Prep service did you use and did it help? ECIC. They do a great job gathering your thoughts and getting you prepared for the HR portion. That being said I don’t think one of my prepped answers came out like I rehearsed because it is more of a conversation the a Q/A format. They may interrupt you in the middle of your answer and go off a different direction. I did 3 webinars and one top off.
Any additional information you would like to add. make sure on the SBI that you keep the clock in your scan and make a decision / brief the decision. Anything you mess up in the SBI can be debriefed and you can get the points back, but if you don’t make a decision and brief it. Then your stuck.
Is their anything you wish you could have done different to prepare you for this process? RST and EC do a great job getting you ready.
