What is your experience? other
Total Flight Time 4,000-5,000

General Overview of Experience It was a great experience! Stressful but great. Delta does a good job of putting you at ease once you are there. I come from a former corporate flying background and at a current 121 employer.
How long did you have your application in before you received an invite? 12 months +
Did you attend a job fair? No
Did you do anything special that triggered the interview invitation? Internal Rec
How many internal recs did you have? 1-2
How long was it from the time of your invite to the actual interview? 2 weeks
Did you have any issues with logbooks, application or paperwork? No
How did you prepare for the JKT/COG portion of the interview? RST all the way. Just as you’ve previously read. Study the 15 day prep course. Some of the questions from the JKT came straight off the RST website. The most important thing is learning the concepts. You should be able to work your way through the question if you read carefully. Most questions have 2 obviously wrong answers and the other 2 answers are exactly alike except ONE word difference. So be sure to read VERY carefully!
COG is straight off RST. I felt very prepared.
Technical Test Questions I honestly can’t remember any questions that totally stumped me. Majority of the test was aerodynamics and FARs. I only had one holding entry math question and one calculate decent distance question.
What was the hardest technical question or content you experienced during the job knowledge test? Honestly can’t remember. Any questions I had trouble with were ones with 2 obviously correct answers except ONE word difference so I truly had to stop and think about which answer was more correct than the other. Read carefully!
Cog Test Exactly like RST. Be sure to treat every practice session like the real test because I entered the test section by accident and totally blew my chance at being fast/accurate on one of the COG exams!
Cog Math Questions Middle school algebra level questions on all of them. I could easily do them all in my head relatively quickly.
HR Questions They go through your app and ask questions from it. Make sure you have stories from each of your previous employers. I got several soft ball TMAAT and WWYD questions. They are looking for YOUR answer and not a canned answer you read off a website. Be yourself and be honest. Don’t let them lead you into the obvious like breaking regs. I prepped with ECIC and felt very relaxed in the interview. They give you a swivel chair so be sure you sit upright and don’t swing back and forth. You have the option to take your jacket off. If you are an obvious sweater then leave it on so they don’t see you sweating. Their thoughts are “if you are this nervous and sweat during the interview, how will you handle that engine failure at V1?” Be confident. They are hiring Captains and want to see your leadership. HR portion lasted 45 minutes.
How long prior to the interview did you prepare for the HR portion of the interview? 2 weeks
Which HR Prep service did you use and did it help? ECIC. Yes I felt very prepared and ready.
Any additional information you would like to add.
Is their anything you wish you could have done different to prepare you for this process? Start as early as possible! 2 weeks to prep was long enough for me but just barely. Give yourself plenty of time to study beforehand so you aren’t as stressed when you get the call.
