General Overview of Experience It was exactly as described previously. Everyone was friendly and positive throughout the entire day. Incredible atmosphere and energy at Southwest. 45-60 min presentation and conversation with Rocky, the chief of hiring. Three interview segments done in seemingly random order: LOI, HR panel with an HR rep and a pilot, and logbook review. Expect to get asked Why Southwest at all three. They also take you on a tour of the training campus, which was awesome to see. We were told what day our hiring board would be and to expect to hear on that day or very soon after. Got the CJO on the day of the board from a phone call from one of the chief pilots.
How long did you have your application in before you received an invite? 1-6 months
Did you attend a job fair? Yes
Did you do anything special that triggered the interview invitation? Southwest job fair in Dallas.
How many internal recs did you have? 3-4
How long was it from the time of your invite to the actual interview? 4 weeks
Did you have any issues with logbooks, application or paperwork? No. Logbook review was very straightforward; just have the dates/times they ask for ready to go as well as lookback for the last five years and you should be fine. SWA wants a lot of paperwork turned in when you arrive at the interview. Keep in mind the impression you can make with how all of this is presented.

Why Southwest?
Conflict with a supervisor?
Provided great customer service?
Qualities of a good pilot?
Have apps in anywhere else?
I found this to be really enjoyable. The HR team did a great job of making it more into a conversation than just ask a question/give an answer.
How long prior to the interview did you prepare for the HR portion of the interview? Off and on for a few months. More focused prep for the 3 weeks before the interview.
Which HR Prep service did you use and did it help? ECIC. I thought it was helpful as far as brainstorming my stories and telling them in an effective way. If your stories are yours – not generic – and you can be your normal personable self to tell them effectively without sounding like an over-rehearsed robot, I think you’ll be fine. I tried hard not to “over prepare” to help avoid sounding rehearsed. I was asked by the HR team if I used a prep service and I answered honestly.
Any additional information you would like to add.
Is their anything you wish you could have done different to prepare you for this process?
