General Overview of Experience This was my second time interviewing with Delta, and it was way more relaxed than the first time. I felt more at ease, and I’m not sure if it’s because I’ve interviewed before and knew the process, or they relaxed some due to the increase pilots needing to be hired.

Technical Test Questions Distance between coordinates (64 north to 68 north. Stuff like this). RNP vs ANP, basic aerodynamics, engine questions, lots of holding fuel/time questions
What was the hardest technical question or content you experienced during the job knowledge test? There was a complicated holding fuel question that I can’t even remember exactly
HR Questions TMAAT your leadership style worked and didn’t work. Why do you have such a low monthly average/why do you have a low amount of hours for the year? I’m reserve and I just explained that. WWYD inebriated passengers being belligerent in first class and the flight attendant wants them off – explain that it is actually illegal to board drunk passengers. WWYD captain is really nice, like ultra nice, but seems distant while flying – I said I would bring it up that we are missing items on the checklist, captain says it’s fine, bring it up that for safety we need to accomplish these items, captain says its fine, bring it up that I’m new and I would just like to make sure I’m learning the proper way via the SOPs, captain says its fine. Follow up question about what I would do at the end of a 4 day trip with this type of captain. They wanted to hear me say I would call prostands or call the union anonymously and ask for advice on how to handle the situation. Why did I choose my university/flight school? They asked me about each 141 stage check failure and what I learned from my commercial multi-engine stage check failure. WWYD your flight attendants hear a loud BANG coming from the rear of the airplane but there’s no cockpit indications of any problems? I said I didn’t want to jump to conclusions and I would want to gather as much information from the FAs as I could, let the company know, and go from there. Ultimately, we couldn’t come up with anything other than a potential can explosion in someone’s luggage and since we didn’t have any instrument indications or any other telltale signs onboard, we would just continue and I would make an announcement to the passengers telling them about it. That was really about it. Most questions came from my application. Very conversational so be careful and always stay in the TMAAT and WWYD question format, even if you’re feeling like you’re just chatting with some friends.
Cog Test Easier than the real test but please practice matching numbers and letters, such as 1A 2B 3C etc. Make flash cards and mix the up so you can do them out of order. The balance beam test is the exact opposite of the one on RST. The real cog test requires you to keep the ball in the middle, so youre just quickly going back and forth, instead of letting the ball go to the outside before going to the other.
How long prior to the interview did you prepare for the HR portion of the interview? 5 weeks
Which HR Prep service did you use and did it help? Cage Marshall. It definitely helped but you need to be able to apply it to the actual day and not let the casual, conversation style of the HR portion of the interview throw you off. Always stay in the WWYD TMAAT question format.
Any additional information you would like to add. Having done this interview twice, just be yourself. My first time interviewing, I was quite uptight, meaning I was super proper and was very trimmed and neat. My second time interviewing, I was a lot more relaxed, using casual words and some slang. I believe they liked that more because it showed a real person, and not someone just preparing to be someone they’re not. I don’t know what else to say about that.
Is there anything you wish you could have done different to prepare you for this process? Wish I tried my suite on much further away from the interview than I actually did. I almost broke the button off my coat!
