Which Airline did you interview with? | FedEx |
How many days between invite, interview, and listed availability? | 2 week notice availability; invite to interview choice between 7-28 days |
Did you receive a job offer? | Yes |
If you did not receive the CJO why do you think you weren’t chosen to continue in the process? | N/A |
What is your experience? | Military and 121 |
Total Flight Time | 4,000-5,000 |
Total Turbine PIC Time | >2,000 |
General Overview of Experience | A great experience. Pretty much exactly as described with great people welcoming you and helping you through the process. |
How long did you have your application in before you received an invite? | 12 months + |
Did you attend a job fair? | No |
Did you do anything special that triggered the interview invitation? | I updated every few weeks and a sponsor inquired often on my status. |
How many internal recs did you have? | 3-4 |
How long was it from the time of your invite to the actual interview? | 3 weeks |
Did you have any issues with logbooks, application or paperwork? | None. I have an electronic logbook with my military summaries included. Had that printed (and a total summary page) and my original military logbooks. Not a single question or concern mentioned. |
How did you prepare for the JKT/COG portion of the interview? | RST!! There is no better preparation tool available. The COG test is actually more difficult on RST. The JKT was extremely difficult. But if you do the readings and understand the principles, you’ll pass the test. |
Technical Test Questions | Definitely worded differently from the RST test quizzes. But majority of theory/principles were the same. Lots of questions (for me) on CG changes, pressure changes, flight controls, and engines. |
What was the hardest technical question or content you experienced during the job knowledge test? | Can’t really remember specific questions. |
Cog Test | Easier than RST. |
Cog Math Questions | Easier than RST. |
HR Questions | Intro (that’s not on resume). TMAAT: Leadership failure/success. TMAAT: Working with complacent crew members. What do I know about FedEx. How would my day one dreamsheet look. How would my commute look What could I do to improve. What if I don’t get offered the job. If I do, where do I see myself in 10 years. WWYD: ATC is overwhelmed and gives me a direction that puts the plane in an unsafe situation, but doesn’t allow a response. and I think a couple other WWYD questions. |
How long prior to the interview did you prepare for the HR portion of the interview? | Been preparing for about 9 months |
Which HR Prep service did you use and did it help? | ECIC. Yes. Though I didn’t really stick to the format, I did learn a lot about not damaging my own brand. I have a particular speaking style and I wanted to be more genuine, but in terms of helping me gather and organize my stories they were fantastic. They also helped with understanding what the SBI was like and preventing you from walking into it blind. I believe at least 3 of our non-CJO guys from our group (we had far too many ?) indicated the SBI was their reason. |
Any additional information you would like to add. | Amy is absolutely wonderful and really sets a welcoming tone from the moment you get there. Kim will bend over backwards answering questions and making sure you understand the process. The entire experience was definitely as comfortable as a high pressure interview could possibly be. |
Is their anything you wish you could have done different to prepare you for this process? | Studied a little more each week before the invite arrived. I had done all the readings and 15 day program before, but hadn’t looked at anything since the holidays arrived. |
