How long was it from the time of your invite to the actual interview? 8 weeks
Did you have any issues with logbooks, application or paperwork? No
How did you prepare for the JKT/COG portion of the interview? JKT = RST 15 day checklist + Ground School
COG = webinar by Tito, some PEBL, mostly chairflying
Never saw the original COG on RST- The real thing was easier than I made it out to be.
Technical Test Questions Mostly Aero, nothing crazy on the wording, know the concepts not flashcard memorization. Maybe 5 very similar to RST (The ones that were most similar were math – radials and TOD questions).
What was the hardest technical question or content you experienced during the job knowledge test? Nothing horrible, Could always eliminate 2 and then take a 50/50 stab. I found myself doing that more than I care to admit.
Cog Test Not difficult. I will say that everyone states you get a chance to “practice” but I expected more. It just has you click through the same example over and over again, which is better than nothing – just way less useful than I expected from other ride reports.
Cog Math Questions 5-6 total, I calculated 3 with mental math, then guessed the others due to being too dumb, not knowing how much time remained and lack of care factor.
HR Questions App review, Sign here, Why major, Only 1 ticket?, Tell me about complacency, TMAAT you thought your CO would be displeased with you (broke a rule), TMAAT you dealt with stress in the airplane, WWYD Capt continues to start engines immediately before takeoff (no 2 min idle), WWYD Approach to airfield and skud layer at DH with far away diverts? I think I was a little late to “bring in the team” on the last one, so they kept digging in.
How long prior to the interview did you prepare for the HR portion of the interview? ECIC seminar 8 months prior, occasional review of material, 1 webinar, 1 topoff
Which HR Prep service did you use and did it help? ECIC – highly rec
Any additional information you would like to add. My week saw 3 days of only 4 people per day at the interview. Big slow down. They should have a better feel for the pace come Aug 1.
Is there anything you wish you could have done different to prepare you for this process?
