Total Flight Time 4,000-5,000
Total Turbine PIC Time >2,000
General Overview of Experience Nothing new to report here.
How long did you have your application in before you received an invite? 1-6 months
Did you attend a job fair? No
Did you do anything special that triggered the interview invitation? I received the invite within a week of my internal recs.
How many internal recs did you have? 3-4
How long was it from the time of your invite to the actual interview? 4 weeks
Did you have any issues with logbooks, application or paperwork? No questions on the log book. I had a coversheet that broke down how I converted my military time to civilian. HR had me pen and ink change my availability date which I had as 2 months ago.
How did you prepare for the JKT/COG portion of the interview? I read EEPP, ANA, Ace the Technical Interview, reviewed all of the RST delta flash cards and practice questions. Cog test every other day and Lumosity everyday. Also attended the cog seminar which I found extremely useful. Two weeks out from my date I started taking cog tests and practice test in the morning and evening.
Technical Test Questions I think I got lucky with the questions I received. Was done with my first hack at about 25 minutes in. 50 of the questions were VERY similar to the RST practice questions. 8 of the questions were easily narrowed down to 2 answers and the final 2 were very very vague questions with vague answers. I spent the rest of my time checking the math and holding questions as well as trying to figure out what the most correct answers was.
What was the hardest technical question or content you experienced during the job knowledge test? Lots of Aero questions. Aft CG give an aircraft….A) Lower stall speed, greater cruise Mach but less stability or B) Lower stall speed, greater cruise Mach and more maneuverability.
Cog Test There are some differences covered in the cog seminar. Every section was much easier than the current trainer on RST particularly the multiple tasks sections. Same different for the most part was much more obvious. UXOTL- only once after the initial test.
Cog Math Questions Got through 9. Very confident I got them all correct. Questions were similar to but not the same as those on the trainer.
HR Questions Had HR at 0830.
Tell me about yourself?
Lots of questions from off my application.
Why did you pick your college?
Why did you choose your degree?
Tell me about this D you received in college?
Tell me about your first solo? Who did you call?
Tell me about your Q3?
Do you have any apps in or interviews with other airlines?
Who is the most important person with respects to customer service?
Flight Attendant and Captain are arguing what do you do?
You are at cruise half way between ATL and DFW at FL370 and you lose an engine what do you do?The vibe in the room swung 180 degrees after I answered the questions about the other airlines. Currently have job interview with SWA and United both of which have domiciles close to my current home. Also have apps in with FEDEX and American. There unhappiness was visible. Disputed my explanation of why Delta would be great for my family in the long run. This is where I feel I failed the HR interview.
How long prior to the interview did you prepare for the HR portion of the interview?
Which HR Prep service did you use and did it help? Emerald Coast. Yes.
Any additional information you would like to add. Thank you for your hard work.
Is their anything you wish you could have done different to prepare you for this process? I would have spent more time preparing for HR.
What can we do to improve our services? I think the next generation of COG you showed the other day is a huge step forward. I also like the idea of having a getting started guide as the initial shock of the quantity of information can at times be overwhelming. I would go as far as saying syllabi would be appropriate.
Concepts not covered by RST None
