Which Airline did you interview with? Delta Air Lines
How many days between invite, interview, and listed availability?
Did you receive a job offer? Yes
If you did not receive the CJO why do you think you weren’t chosen to continue in the process?
What is your experience? 121 only
Total Flight Time Greater
Total Turbine PIC Time 1,000-2,000
General Overview of Experience Other ride reports about the experience are right on. They bring you there with every intention of offering you the job.
Some random thoughts:
Skip the Naval aero guide and read the T34 guide. Much easier to get through and has more than enough info.
After the aero guide read all the RST topical guides. Then take the practice exams. If you are doing well, you’re all set. Don’t just repeatedly take the tests to learn the material however because the real test isn’t using the same questions.
Remember most failures are HR. It’s easy to focus on the JKT but make the HR priority one.
A few passes at the cog test and you will not have an issue. Taking the real one feels like cheating because it is designed for people never having seen the tests already.
One note on the cog – the left/right keyboard test is trickier in person. I think if you hit the arrow in the direction it’s already moving it will move super fast. Let it just correct to middle in slow speed or it becomes almost impossible to control. When it’s slow a nice steady left-right-left-right keeps it right in the middle. No clue if a 3rd press in the same direction goes even faster, but I’d remonmend not trying to find out.
HR interview broke down as a couple app questions, one or two TMAAT, than three or four WWYD. Don’t compromise safety, always give co workers the benefit of the doubt and the opportunity to do the right thing, protect the brand, and always advise anyone remotely relevant (call dispatch, scheduling, mx, gate, FAs, Pax, ATC, etc). Very non-confrontational, no bad cop, and wrapped up in under 40mins.
How long did you have your application in before you received an invite? 12 months +
Did you attend a job fair? No
Did you do anything special that triggered the interview invitation? Lots of internal recs sent in, but more than 6months since last “trigger” email sent, so who knows.
How many internal recs did you have? 5+
How long was it from the time of your invite to the actual interview? 4 weeks
Did you have any issues with logbooks, application or paperwork? They asked very little about my app and nothing about logbooks. If you need multiple forms 11 and 12 for the PRIA docs for multiple airlines they also want an 11A – the email is confusing in that instruction
How did you prepare for the JKT/COG portion of the interview? T34 aero, RST topical guides, and RST Facebook group for JKT
RST Cog trainer for Cog. Don’t bother with luminosity or anything else.
Technical Test Questions Don’t remember
What was the hardest technical question or content you experienced during the job knowledge test? The Doctor asked more TMAAT than the HR portion, HR prep helps there too
Cog Test
Cog Math Questions
HR Questions
How long prior to the interview did you prepare for the HR portion of the interview? 1 Month
Which HR Prep service did you use and did it help? Used some of Emerald Coast but could only make it to a webinar. Never did top off. I’d recommend even if you don’t use it all, don’t cheap out and leave anything on the table
Any additional information you would like to add.
Is their anything you wish you could have done different to prepare you for this process?
