Which Airline did you interview with? FedEx
How many days between invite, interview, and listed availability? about 3 weeks
Did you receive a job offer? Yes
If you did not receive the CJO why do you think you weren’t chosen to continue in the process? NA
What is your experience? Military and 121
Total Flight Time 2,000-3,000
Total Turbine PIC Time >2,000
General Overview of Experience Outstanding. COG, SBI, & panel prep are spot on. Job knowledge test is waaay harder the RST practice tests. However, it’s a combined score, so it worked out. Panel interview was also more difficult than previous trip reports led me to believe.
How long did you have your application in before you received an invite? 1-6 months
Did you attend a job fair? No
Did you do anything special that triggered the interview invitation? Had a sponsor & 3 letters (under the old system)
How many internal recs did you have? 3-4
How long was it from the time of your invite to the actual interview? 3 weeks
Did you have any issues with logbooks, application or paperwork? No
How did you prepare for the JKT/COG portion of the interview? RST
Technical Test Questions Awful. I’m pretty sure I blacked out for 45′. A couple I remember:
1. Critical engine for 747 with crosswinds, one answer was no critical engine for jets.
2. You’re at load maneuvering limits, what can you do: more weight, more load, more bank or more airspeed?
What was the hardest technical question or content you experienced during the job knowledge test? See above.
Cog Test Easy (I had 750-800 scores on the trainer). COG trainer is more difficult & will prep you very well.
Cog Math Questions Not as hard as RST.
HR Questions Tough & they kept pushing (trying to add stress I guess):
1. Is it okay to overlook small errors a co-pilot is making if you know there’s something going on at home?
2. Pilot is 20 knots fast on approach, you’ve said “go-around” and he ignores you, you call “airspeed” & he ignores you. WWYD?
3. What is PSP & what does it mean?
4. Why FedEx?
How long prior to the interview did you prepare for the HR portion of the interview? 6 months. I had previously interviewed with AA, so that helped (hired there).
Which HR Prep service did you use and did it help? ECIC! Best in the biz.
Any additional information you would like to add.
Is their anything you wish you could have done different to prepare you for this process?
