Which Airline did you interview with? | Delta |
How many days between invite, interview, and listed availability? | |
Did you receive a job offer? | Yes |
If you did not receive the CJO why do you think you weren’t chosen to continue in the process? | n/a |
What is your experience? | Military |
Total Flight Time | 2,000-3,000 |
Total Turbine PIC Time | >2,000 |
General Overview of Experience | Overall great experience. The company is just as everyone has described. |
How long did you have your application in before you received an invite? | 1-6 months |
Did you attend a job fair? | No |
Did you do anything special that triggered the interview invitation? | Pretty sure the internal recommendation is what did it. |
How many internal recs did you have? | 1-2 |
How long was it from the time of your invite to the actual interview? | 4 weeks |
Did you have any issues with logbooks, application or paperwork? | No issues with paperwork. I would recommend not getting fancy with bindings and cover-sheets. I had a generic folder with each set in each side. I did paperclip my form-8 forms and performance reports to separate the original from the copies. It’s funny how there is a lot of stress over the first 5 seconds of the interview. Literally the first thing you do is turn it in and it’s a non-event unless you missed something. |
How did you prepare for the JKT/COG portion of the interview? | I read a ton of the recommended readings and also RST! The RST-COG was SPOT-on. Overall the COG was harder on RST than the actual. I was scoring low 700’s and only did a few practices and the actual was a non-event. For me the JKT was the hardest. Best advice I can give is 80-20-20. 80% of the questions are very close to RST. 20% can be narrowed down and you can guess comfortably. The last 20% I was clueless. I walked out not feeling great about it but I knew I couldn’t have been that far off. |
Technical Test Questions | What is Alert Height? (MDA, and other was tied to aircraft systems, forgot the rest). |
What was the hardest technical question or content you experienced during the job knowledge test? | I would say overall split pretty well focusing primarily on Aerodynamics. There was a math question with a ton of information and listed both FAA reserve fuel and holding fuel. Overall the question, I think, was asking how long can you hold based on your remaining holding fuel. |
Cog Test | As described above. |
Cog Math Questions | I can’t remember any that stood out. |
HR Questions | 3-5 minutes tell us about yourself since high-school. Several questions about my application regarding a UPT bust and a speeding ticket. One question that threw me off was “Are there any events in recent history that you feel will change the Airline industry? It doesn’t have to be a catastrophic event.” other questions were WWYD, it’s company policy that you wear your hat and the FO isn’t wearing his hat. WWYD, after long international flight you’re diverted for weather and your likely stuck on the ramp for several hours. WWYD if you are paired with a captain that you can’t get a long with. |
How long prior to the interview did you prepare for the HR portion of the interview? | 4 weeks |
Which HR Prep service did you use and did it help? | Emerald Coast Interview Consultants |
Any additional information you would like to add. | Overall, I would read a ton, use RST and ECIC. I used emerald coast as a guide and for practice. I wouldn’t over do-it and start to sound robotic. |
Is their anything you wish you could have done different to prepare you for this process? | I don’t think so. |
What can we do to improve our services? | Nope. Great service. Thanks! |
Concepts not covered by RST |
Overall great experience.
