Which Airline did you interview with? FedEx Express
How many days between invite, interview, and listed availability?
Did you receive a job offer? Yes
If you did not receive the CJO why do you think you weren’t chosen to continue in the process? N/A
What is your experience? Military
Total Flight Time 1,000-2,000
Total Turbine PIC Time 1,000-2,000
General Overview of Experience Overall outstanding experience. Ditto to everything everyone has said about Amy and Kim…Fantastic women that really want you to succeed. As for the Captains, I have heard things in the past like, good cop, bad cop. Or even worse bad cop bad cop. I had good cop, good cop. Everyone there was amazing and really went out of their way to talk to you and put you at ease. Had a definite feeling that they really wanted to hire you, and the process was more of a formality (that needed to be taken seriously).
How long did you have your application in before you received an invite? 1-6 months
Did you attend a job fair? No
Did you do anything special that triggered the interview invitation? Updated hours weekly. Make sure you are also updating your last date flown (only month/ Year). I missed it, and found out that I wouldn’t be called because they thought I hadn’t flown for a couple months.
How many internal recs did you have? 3-4
How long was it from the time of your invite to the actual interview? 4 weeks
Did you have any issues with logbooks, application or paperwork? My military “logbook” can be a bit confusing. Apparently I was missing a page that made it look like I hadn’t flown for a couple months. They brought it up as the first question, I explained that I had been flying and must be missing a page. After that, they said “that makes more sense, just checking” and pushed it aside and continued with the interview.
How did you prepare for the JKT/COG portion of the interview? RST. The prep for the COG was great to get an idea of what you will see at the real test. The only difference (that I didn’t know about) was instead of using a mouse, you will be using a pen you push against the computer screen. Also the part that asks the difference between the two series of letters/ numbers was a bit different. In RST they are the same on both, but may be jumbled to not match, at the COG test, they two sets had different letters, or numbers in them so it was easier.
Technical Test Questions Used RST. They just added 700 new questions to the test bank. I did the ground school and took all the tests multiple times. I was getting high 90’s and thought I had the concepts down pretty well. Was really surprised at test time to be guessing on 20 of 60 of the questions. Somehow passed ,but was tougher than I expected
What was the hardest technical question or content you experienced during the job knowledge test? What do Vmcg and V1 have in common….had never heard of Vmcg. If AOA is reduced what happens to lift and drag. The answers were 1. Lift increases if you were less than L/D max. 2. Lift increases if you were more than L/D Max. 3. Induced Drag increases if you were less than L/D Max. 4. Induced Drag Increases if you were greater than L/D Max.
Cog Test See Above
Cog Math Questions COG math was tough. Not sure if I got any right. Like others said, Amy said that pretty much nobody passes it, and everything is a cumulative score. She said don’t worry about it.

WWYD if, in the weather, shooting approach, wet runway, Capt is High and fast.
How long prior to the interview did you prepare for the HR portion of the interview? 1 month
Which HR Prep service did you use and did it help? ECIC. Worth its weight in gold!!!! Did a seminar about 4 months ago prior to having my app in. Did a webinar about a week or so prior to the interview, and did my top off about 5 days prior to interview with Joe Moske. I am sure that everyone at ECIC is great, but if you have a FedEx interview, request Joe. He has worked at FedEx for 16 or so years, and was fantastic!

Is their anything you wish you could have done different to prepare you for this process? No
What can we do to improve our services? Nothing
