General Overview of Experience | At about 730 Dorothea came out to grab us to turn our 2 sets of paperwork in. 745-815 welcome intro by Captain Holmes. They have a schedule posted in the pilot selection waiting area. My HR interview was at 1030 so I left the building and walked around campus for about 45 minutes before that. Got back to the building at 945, called into HR at 1020, done about 1105, then lunch break. HR was very cordial and relaxing environment. Back by 1215 for testing at 1230. Cog, personality, JKT. Done by 3. Last HR interview done by 1515. Captain Holmes and the rest of the Pilot Selection team came to tell us congratulations at 1545. Day 2 starts at 630, MMPI, urinalysis, psychologist interview (about 30 minutes), then fingerprinting and photo lab. Done with everything by 11. Day 2 success email at 1130. Overall great experience. They know how stressful it is and do a great job putting you at ease. Smile, be polite, look like you’re excited to be there. |

Did you attend a job fair? | No |

How many internal recs did you have? | 3-4 |
How long was it from the time of your invite to the actual interview? | 7 weeks |
Did you have any issues with logbooks, application or paperwork? | No. |
Technical Test Questions | Most I had seen were similar to RST questions, and some were exactly like RST. A few questions I was able to answer from my own pilot experiences. Overall RST did a solid job in prep. I did the full 15 day course, did the ground school, and went through all the quizzes several times. Only 1 math question on the JKT and it was pretty simple. |
What was the hardest technical question or content you experienced during the job knowledge test? | A question from a Jeppesen approach plate, something about an acronym under ATIS in the frequency section of the plate. I can’t remember any more specifics. |
HR Questions | Tell us about your professional career. Why did you go to that college? How did you get interested in flying? How are you going to handle being a military reservist and flying for Delta? Coming from the military, how are you going to handle the transition to Delta, including commuting if that’s your plan? TMAAT you had to make a decision to protect your company’s image. TMAAT you had to fail a student as an instructor. What do you think makes a great pilot? Can you think of anyone from your career that has those traits? WWYD you’re a brand new FO, CA doesn’t want to do checklists. WWYD, you’re CA of 777 going to Narita, natural disaster at Narita and can’t land there. Follow up, dispatch gives you 3 divert options, what kind of things are you looking for to decide where to go? |
Cog Test | RST did a solid job getting me ready for the Cog. Review the games several times and you’ll be fine. |
How long prior to the interview did you prepare for the HR portion of the interview? | 4 weeks |
Which HR Prep service did you use and did it help? | ECIC. I did one webinar, one in-person seminar, and the top-off. The webinar and seminar did a good job allowing you to practice formulating responses to questions. The top-off was especially helpful. |
Any additional information you would like to add. | Be yourself! Do your best to stay relaxed. If you can, get out of the building for a little bit while you’re waiting to get some fresh air. |
Is there anything you wish you could have done different to prepare you for this process? | No. |
Overall RST did a solid job in prep
