General Overview of Experience Overall, the Hiring Team is there to ease your nerves and try to make it a relaxing environment. Its very straightforward with no gotchas or tricks to try to get you. I started with the technical and then moved onto the HR portion. The interviewers are all very personable and just truly want to get to know you as a person. The technical doesnt have anything too difficult to prepare for. In terms of the HR portion, they just want to have as normal a conversation with you as possible. They want you to show your truest self.

Technical Test Questions Brief a flight from DCA to DEN. 737 callouts, questions on MSA, climb via, top altitude on SID, descend via, and runway available from glideslope touchdown. Pack malfunction followed by using the QRH. Closed airport and then picking a diversion from 4 choices. Nothing too difficult. I recommend watching the climb via video and going over the climb via/descend via question packet the FAA provides. Finally, you watch a CRM video and give your observations.
What was the hardest technical question or content you experienced during the job knowledge test? Nothing really. I was just a little unsure of the descend via and then getting vectored off of it, but my answers were correct. I think the hardest part honestly is not rushing and just taking your time to really absorb all the information at that moment.
HR Questions TMAAT your optimism lead to a positive outcome. TMAAT you had a co-worker who broke a policy or procedure. TMAAT you needed the help of your co-workers to resolve a problem. TMA what are the most important qualities a captain should have. TMAAT you demonstrated those qualities? Why United?
Cog Test N/A
How long prior to the interview did you prepare for the HR portion of the interview? A month
Which HR Prep service did you use and did it help? Cage Consulting and they were great. I had some nerves going into it about not being properly prepared, but they calmed me down with what they provided me. It really helped to emphasize my positive attributes and had the right mindset of taking it as a behavioral interview. I highly recommend using them.
Any additional information you would like to add. Take your time answering the TMAAT questions. During the interview I wrote down some key words of the question to make sure my stories were on track with what was asked. It also allowed me to slow down and really think about what type of story to apply to the question.
Is there anything you wish you could have done different to prepare you for this process? No
