Technical Test Questions All straight forward from RST. Very good prep course. Not many questions were verbatim from RST but understanding the concepts were the key to taking the test with confidence.
What was the hardest technical question or content you experienced during the job knowledge test? There was a question about entering a holding pattern and what time you would have to depart the hold to go to your alternate. The question gave you probably about 15-20 parameters for your use in answering the question, but it wasn’t until looking at it for a while where I was like, “this is all unnecessary information.” I think it was like that on purpose and it threw me off. Otherwise everything else is straight forward from the prep course.
HR Questions Tell me about yourself in 5-6 minutes. TTATW you were an FO and the CA “almost” made a mistake. You are the CA and the FAs get to the gate late due to a late inbound flight and they are all very flustered, WWYD? You are on a short 13 minute flight and the FA calls up and reports a loud “bang” from the back and some of the px are concerned, WWYD, would you turn around and return or keep going? (Followed up with all gauges and indications are normal. I elected to get more info from FA’s, and as long as indications are normal and airplane is flying fine I would keep going and perhaps get MX to come check everything out once we land at the outstation. Then followed up with what if it happened during climb? I still said continue as long as all indications are normal and airplane is flying good). They said okay and moved on. You are the CA and you are about to start initial descent and ATC reports moderate turbulence expected during descent, would you tell px over the PA or say nothing and let them figure it out for themselves when you’re descending? Tell me about your biggest challenge in college? What did you do to prepare for this interview today?
Cog Test Very straight forward.
How long prior to the interview did you prepare for the HR portion of the interview? Several months
Which HR Prep service did you use and did it help? Cage Marshall. It was very, very helpful. I will use them again for my next one.
Any additional information you would like to add.
Is there anything you wish you could have done different to prepare you for this process? No.
