General Overview of Experience Straight forward. Be prepared, be on time and show them why you want United. They are excited to meet you, show some excitement and you’ll do perfect.
How long did you have your application in before you received an invite? 12 months +
Did you attend a job fair? No
Did you do anything special that triggered the interview invitation? I updated my application almost every day the two weeks before I got the invite.
How many internal recs did you have? 3-4
How long was it from the time of your invite to the actual interview? 3 weeks
Did you have any issues with logbooks, application or paperwork? No. I tabbed checkrides (Private, Instrument, etc). I had original paper logbooks. Neat and organized. Even had a summary sheet.
Technical Test Questions Flight from DEN to SFO. Great weather. Flying with a brand new FO. How would you brief her/him.
You’re ready for TO and the tower instruction is “United 1020 fly runway heading, cleared for TO.” What’s missing? (Altitude). You’re in cruise, close to TD. You get a “Fuel Filter Bypass” message. How you handle it? You GA at SFO, airport closed indefinitely. What do you do? (Make sure you use CRM, they need to see that.) My FO didn’t have an opinion or wanted to contribute. I had to convince her/him to participate in decision making.
HR Questions TMAAT you made a mistake in the cockpit.

Any additional information you would like to add. Prep as much as you can. Follow the model they give you. Learn from other’s mistakes. And most importantly BE YOU!! They want you to succeed. Let your light shine bright and you’ll walk out proud.
