Cog Test I did this test twice in a week, FEDEX/DAL and it is the same. Be careful of overconfidence–these tests can get people if you let your guard down.. I thought the previous number recall was harder than RST with only three numbers. I figured out the math has only 6 questions! Use your watch as it times out at 90 secs. Guess at the end before 90 secs is up if you are stuck. Do not forget the UXIOLT letters. Burn them in your brain before you start that part of the test. I maximized use of practice time.
Cog Math Questions
HR Questions Why Delta? Bang in the back after takeoff? WWYD Pax suspects a pilot was drinking ? WWYD? Tell me about your volunteer experience? Follow ups to that. Questions about training/app/logbooks/education. Make sure those are tight and 100% truthful or you will not get hired. These teams look at hundreds of apps a year and are experts.. Saw several guys sweating mistakes/inaccuracies. Not worth it folks. If you have an issue, be upfront before they bring it up and hope for the best. Your a new CA and the FO does part of your checklist to help. WWYD? Gave the standard response of thanks, but I need to practice. I appreciate it etc etc. Does is again next flight?WWYD. I said I would say “I love you brother/sister but I need to do this to get better. Let’s start the checklists over from the very beginning.” Not sure how that went but it stopped the follow ups. 🙂
How long prior to the interview did you prepare for the HR portion of the interview?
Which HR Prep service did you use and did it help? ECIC–yes. Did it partly to ensure I didn’t screw anything up. At this point, what’s a few hundred more dollars? Not absolutely necessary if you have a lot of experience, but peace of mind and an objective sounding board with good techniques made it worthwhile. I would recommend for most people unless on a really tight budget.
Any additional information you would like to add. THANK YOU TITO AND TEAM RST! I lived off Test Tuesdays and Ride reports. ANA, EEPP, Gold Standard, Flash Cards, and all tests in RST bank are critical to your success. Put the time in and you’ll pass. I’m not smart on this stuff so if I passed, you can!
Is their anything you wish you could have done different to prepare you for this process?
