General Overview of Experience (With the actual Interview Process) Welcoming, warm. HR portion as advertised, very much trying to put you at ease. I found the TSA a bit awkward/lacking structure/direction, but may have been my interview FO’s style.
How long did you have your application in before you received an invite? 6-12 months
Did you attend a job fair? No
Did you do anything special that triggered the interview invitation? Received invite day after my 5th internal rec posted, but could have been coincidence.
How many internal recs did you have? 5+
How long was it from the time of your invite to the actual interview? 7 weeks
Did you have any issues with logbooks, application or paperwork? No
TSA Scenario Experience in General Terms. Vague and kind of lacked direction. FO told me flying Denver to Newark that I was the Captain and to give my brief, but no other info provided. Throughout I had to keep asking questions about weather, notams, atis, location on airport, told, etc before I felt I could brief the items mentioned in the TSA guide. In flight malfunction was generator issue. The iPad was already on the applicable checklist page when I got it. Uneventful. Divert scenario due to runway closure at LGA. I forgot to inform Pax of the issue/reason for divert.
What was the hardest technical question or content you experienced during the job knowledge test? I wasn’t asked anything technical during TSA, though this seemed to be the exception. Most of the folks I interviewed with for Jeppesen and/or climb/descend via questions.
HR Questions Tell us about yourself.
TMAAT…you had a disagreement with a crew member in the air
…you made a process improvement without being asked
…you had a crew member not performing up to standards and what you did about it

…you failed to perform up to standards
How long prior to the interview did you prepare for the HR portion of the interview? 8 months
How did you prep? I started emerald coast prep ~8 months prior going through the CBTs, developing my intro and mining career for good TMAATs. I also interviewed the month prior at a ULCC for a dry run. Did one more rapid fire ~5 weeks prior and a top off the week prior.
Is there anything you wish you could have done differently to prepare you for this process? No.I think your ground school is spot on, I just didn’t get any of the technical questions.
