General Overview of Experience Overall, It was a top notch experience. The hiring department is staffed with people that love what they do and are good at it. From the moment you walk in the door the first day everyone you meet is friendly and welcoming. They were very clear up front that if you got the invite to be there, they want to hire you.

Day one is pretty short. I had the 7am show time and I was out the door by 10:30 to wait for the call for day 2. Have your paperwork ready to go when you show. They take it first thing when you show up. The ladies in the hiring department will send a checklist to make it easy to organize the paperwork. If anything is missing or incorrect it is no big deal. They will find you on day two to for any corrections. Don’t stress the paperwork too much. They will make sure its right before you leave on day 2 (if you make it). Testing was straightforward. Do the RST15 day program/ground school and practice cogs and you’ll be fine. I felt very well prepared for day one. Got the call to come back for day 2 just after lunch time.

Day two was super laid back. We had a smaller group so it went pretty fast. We were all done before lunch time. They brought us all into a conference room and gave us a brief on the days events. Again, everyone was super chill and welcoming. I got grabbed pretty quick to go do my HR portion. There is no order, you just get called up when your name comes up on the list and when you are available. HR portion was great. The two pilots that interviewed me were very relaxed and overall it just felt like a friendly conversation. Almost none of the interview was flying related. They want to get to know you. Be yourself!! Interview prep was helpful but don’t be a robot or a weirdo, you wont get hired.

Now to the part I was dreading, the SBI. DO THE PREP COURSES!! It gives you a system to break it down and keep it organized, so your not fumbling around and wasting time. Above all else, MAKE A DECISION AND BRIEF IT! They are very clear with the instructions and don’t start the clock till they have answered all your questions. It was the fastest 8 minutes of my life. Then they left and I drew up some taking points for a debrief. Talk about what went well as a CREW and what YOU could have done better. They will ask you a few questions. I could tell when they got the answers they wanted cause they cut me off and it was obvious that the exercise was over. You will get no feedback, and then be escorted back to the conference room where you started. The hiring department provides a great spread for lunch and makes sure everyone get something to eat before they leave.

How long did you have your application in before you received an invite? 6-12 months
Did you attend a job fair? No
Did you do anything special that triggered the interview invitation? I did a big app refresh with my new resume and updated hours. 4 days later I got the invite. I don’t know if that is related or not, might just be a coincidence.
How many internal recs did you have? 1-2
How long was it from the time of your invite to the actual interview? 7 weeks
Did you have any issues with logbooks, application or paperwork? No issues. For my logbooks, I brought in my entire military HARMS printout with the final summary on top. I printed out a separate log for my 135 time, then gave them my handwritten log from my civilian flight training. Just make sure it is neat and easy read. I didn’t get any questions about my log.

Make sure to have official transcripts for all your higher education. Mine were sealed but they didn’t seem to mind if they were opened or not. They also knew that some universities were not sending them out in hard copy format anymore and were fine with electronic copies.

Technical Test Questions Just follow the the RST test prep and you’ll be fine.
What was the hardest technical question or content you experienced during the job knowledge test? I can’t think of anything off the top of my head that stood out. Just do the 15 day programs, and study the source material that the sample questions are based on. Don’t just rote memorize the questions. Make sure you understand the concepts, especially the aero stuff.
HR Questions Not a lot of questions overall. It was more of a back and forth discussion. It is obvious front the time you walk in that it 100% a bro check to make sure you’re cool and that they would want to fly with you. Relax and be yourself. This was surpassingly the least stressful part of the whole interview process.
Cog Test Practice the cog, you’ll be fine. You can practice as many times as you want on the actual test.
How long prior to the interview did you prepare for the HR portion of the interview? 2 months out
How did you prep? Start writing down stories to tell based on the questions you see scattered throughout the interview prep sites.
