General Overview of Experience Several questions were focused on applying a concept and were not always 100% clear. While the COG on RST was good practice, I did not know the non-dominate hand was required on the arrow keys for the “balance the ball / previous number” game… I had practiced opposite.
How long did you have your application in before you received an invite? 12 months +
Did you attend a job fair? Yes
Did you do anything special that triggered the interview invitation? Internal Rec
How many internal recs did you have? 1-2
How long was it from the time of your invite to the actual interview? 6 weeks
Did you have any issues with logbooks, application or paperwork? Not that I know of, never got to that portion
Technical Test Questions I had questions over “Emergency Fuel Declaration” (not Min Fuel) and how to arrive at a destination when fuel is critical but flying into a jet stream and also a question on an ILS and given weather. (Apparently FedEx has their own version of a TAF. They provided a TAF but struggled to understand it as I am not familiar with the FexEx format. It was also a very odd question and I had not seen it before. Not sure if I got it correct or not.
What was the hardest technical question or content you experienced during the job knowledge test? Some questions were not clear on what concept it was asking. One question was similar to “You fly a very stable ILS to RWY 09. The TAF was given, but it was a FedEx version of a TAF, very difficult to understand. You break out at mins and have flown a very stable approach. Where is the runway? a) right in front of you b) slightly to the left c) slightly to the right e) very far left make a large turn to join final…”

Obviously not verbatim. Per the given TAF I don’t know what the wind direction was but it was 18G23-ish. Not sure what the question was covering?

HR Questions N/A
Cog Test Please practice the “balance the ball / previous number game” using your non-dominate hand on the arrow keys/keyboard

The COG match section is tougher than the RST. The questions change in some unknown about of time, answer or no answer. Also, if you select an answer, the question changes. You can not select an answer and use the remaining time to review. Toughest section due to unknown time.

How long prior to the interview did you prepare for the HR portion of the interview? approx 5 months
