How many days between invite, interview, and listed availability? <20 days between “invite to apply” and interview
Did you include volunteer work in your application? Yes
Did you receive a job offer? Yes
If you did not receive the CJO why do you think you weren’t chosen to continue in the process? NA
What is your experience? Military,91
Total Flight Time 3,000-4,000
Total Turbine PIC Time
TPIC 121 hours
0
TPIC Military hours
>2000

General Overview of Experience USN plus a little corporate/contract Part 91 business jet time
How long did you have your application in before you received an invite? 6-12 months
Did you attend a job fair? No
Did you do anything special that triggered the interview invitation? Not that I’m aware of. PE is obviously huge. OBAP/NGPA/WIA are good organizations and put points on the board. Seemed like I got the invite ~2-3 weeks after I crossed the 100-hours/12 months threshold.
How many internal recs did you have? 3-4
How long was it from the time of your invite to the actual interview? 2 weeks
Did you have any issues with logbooks, application or paperwork? None
Technical Test Questions Per the prep. No major surprises. Only a handful of questions that I wasn’t 100% sure of.
What was the hardest technical question or content you experienced during the job knowledge test? One had a really weird TAF in a shorthand I wasn’t familiar with. Needed to pull out the winds to infer crab direction.
HR Questions Very low threat. Tell us about yourself. Why FedEx? What will you do if not selected? TMAAT as a leader you had to choose between equally bad (or good) options? TMAAT a decision produced unexpected results? Tell us about a career setback and what you did about it? No hypotheticals. No time constraints except intro…I felt like I tended to go long with my other answers/stories but they didn’t seem to mind. Very collegial; very conversational. They clearly did not want canned responses!
Cog Test Like sitting in the dentist’s chair. Total grind but just get through it. One view of the RST COG Primer video (Day 10) and 2-3 laps through the Jet Brain Games should be enough fam. The FedEx COG is exactly as advertised.
How long prior to the interview did you prepare for the HR portion of the interview? Intense prep for a prior interview at another airline; light brush-up / top-off 1 week out for this one
How did you prep?
Which HR Prep service did you use and did it help? RST, without a doubt!
Any additional information you would like to add. Interview Day 1: 80% of effort/study toward JKT; 20% toward COG; 0% toward Psych
Interview Day 2: 75% of effort toward SBI; 25% toward HR (not counting earlier HR prep)
YMMV
Is there anything you wish you could have done different to prepare you for this process? I was surprised how quick the turn was between invite and interview. I was able to do the whole 15-day checklist, but it would have been nice to have more planned days off to digest the info and have slack for when I inevitably fell behind timeline.
