General Overview of Experience | Professional. Front desk lady is fantastic and she shows you around. They bring all of you in a conference room. He talks for a while so you can stop being nervous. The itinerary for the day of who is interviewing first and who is testing first is on a neat sheet of paper in the middle of the waiting area which is a great looking freshly remodeled area. You know exactly when you are doing everything. Delta Cafe is great, lots of options. If you interview first, then as soon as your done with testing at the end of the day, those scores get sent and you will know if you are cut pretty close to immediately. Overall, they tell you its not a game…but Go to Emerald coast. |
How long did you have your application in before you received an invite? | <60 days |
Did you attend a job fair? | No |
Did you do anything special that triggered the interview invitation? | Delta Guaranteed Interview Program |
How many internal recs did you have? | 0 |
How long was it from the time of your invite to the actual interview? | 6 weeks |
Did you have any issues with logbooks, application or paperwork? | No They asked me if the things like a check ride bust or other negative event was annotated in the remarks section in my logbook for that flight and I said No but gave them a date. Their reaction hinted toward them wanting it in the remarks section…maybe tabbed too? |
Technical Test Questions | 60 Questions 60 minutes. Yes you get scratch paper and pencil. RST is an absolute fantastic prep for the Job knowledge written. It was a non-event..greater than 90% probably. There were a couple questions I hadn’t prepared for or seen here on RST. It pulls from a bank of 5000 questions. (at the bottom of the page on the screen it says Question 4,755.. then Question 1,743..so on. I studied on here until I consistently got over 90 on the Test Simulator. |
What was the hardest technical question or content you experienced during the job knowledge test? | They provided coordinates 80N 44W and 76N 40W how many NM is away are these points? |
HR Questions | -Introductions (retired pilot, active pilot, retired HR) (FYI, its a small round table you sit at in a office chair that is easy to fidget with. close quarters) -Sign your app -Go through every thing that is negative on your app. -TMAAT -WWYD I would tell you my questions but all of mine were on here in the HR simulator. They randomly pick the questions from a binder in their lap that is hundreds of pages thick. My questions wont be yours. No questions the other people interviewing got, I got. |
Cog Test | 13 “levels”. Don’t sweat the balance the ball thing. its 10x easier on the cog, and it does NOT require you to go all the way to the red marks to get points. This was another example of how RST is great. Jet Brain games is 3x harder than the actual cog. It was a breeze. stop freaking out about the flag man (or engine shutdown game on brain games). It is a breeze. thinking outside the box his Belt loop is much bigger on his left side when facing away and he has a curly cue with his bangs facing his right side. just remember “curly right, belt left” and i flew through it very fast. Its all touch screen. |
How long prior to the interview did you prepare for the HR portion of the interview? | 2 months |
Which HR Prep service did you use and did it help? | Cage Marshall. (best suited for United, I learned) No, as much as Delta hates canned answers from Emerald coast, unless you learn from them how to answer a question, they are not interested in you. |
Any additional information you would like to add. | |
Is there anything you wish you could have done different to prepare you for this process? | Use Emerald coast. |
