Which Airline did you interview with? FedEx
How many days between invite, interview, and listed availability?
Did you receive a job offer? 12 months call back
If you did not receive the CJO why do you think you weren’t chosen to continue in the process? I was not told where I struggled. I believe the COG went well, the personality test I have no idea, and I struggled on the general knowledge.
What is your experience? Military
Total Flight Time 2,000-3,000
Total Turbine PIC Time 1,000-2,000
General Overview of Experience The cog test was a lot easier than the practice one. The general knowledge was difficult and questions/answers were worded in an “awkward/difficult” manner.
How long did you have your application in before you received an invite? <60 days
Did you attend a job fair? No
Did you do anything special that triggered the interview invitation? No
How many internal recs did you have? 1-2
How long was it from the time of your invite to the actual interview? 3 weeks
Did you have any issues with logbooks, application or paperwork? No
How did you prepare for the JKT/COG portion of the interview? I followed the 15 day prep course and reviewed the topic section.
Technical Test Questions what does the aileron/spoiler valve purpose? If the #1 A/C pack isn’t producing air, what is the problem? What affects specific range? You are vectored off route and lose comm, what will you do?
What was the hardest technical question or content you experienced during the job knowledge test? If after engine start you do not get conditioned air from the #1 A/C pack, what is the problem?
Cog Test Much easier then prep.
Cog Math Questions They were easier then prep.
HR Questions
How long prior to the interview did you prepare for the HR portion of the interview? 20 days
Which HR Prep service did you use and did it help? Emerald Coast, I didn’t make it past day one, so did not get to use the skills developed. I felt very confident in the Emerald Coast training
Any additional information you would like to add.
Is their anything you wish you could have done different to prepare you for this process? I wish I had spent less time on the cog and gouge questions, and more time reading systems. I also will prepare more on AIM and instrument flying regs.
What can we do to improve our services? Better organization of the website and flow of process. I was following the 15 day plan, but then found another series of topic lessons. Incorporating the recommended steps on one page or in the left hand column would make things more clear. The left hand column seems random and a lot of good info is “hidden” in these links that might be missed. I was never able to get on to the Facebook page, a more streamlined process is needed. I would also suggest organizing the gorilla gouge power point of questions.
