General Overview of Experience The Delta Pilot Recruitment team did a phenomenal job making me feel welcome. I truly believe their intention is to hire every pilot candidate they interview.
How long did you have your application in before you received an invite? 1-6 months
Did you attend a job fair? No
Did you do anything special that triggered the interview invitation? I don’t know. I heard a rumor that Delta likes to see recency of new aircraft training. I received my latest type rating in Nov. 2016.
How many internal recs did you have? 1-2
How long was it from the time of your invite to the actual interview? 8 weeks
Did you have any issues with logbooks, application or paperwork? No.
How did you prepare for the JKT/COG portion of the interview? RST 15 day prep program along with all the material contained within the website. Study guide hand-me-downs. Lumosity for COG test.
Technical Test Questions Very difficult. As ppl have stated before, many times you can eliminate two answers and take a stab at the remaining two.
What was the hardest technical question or content you experienced during the job knowledge test? Many aerodynamics questions. One or two math questions (DME radial/distance). Very few questions that I had on my actual test that I have seen before from RST or study guides.
Cog Test The practice sessions before each question bank are helpful.
Cog Math Questions Not difficult math.
HR Questions Delta provided feedback to me regarding my interview. They told me this portion went well. That being said, I used Emerald Coast to prepare me for the HR portion.
How long prior to the interview did you prepare for the HR portion of the interview? 2 months
Which HR Prep service did you use and did it help? Emerald Coast. I did a Top Off 5 days prior to my interview and two Webinars
Any additional information you would like to add.
Is there anything you wish you could have done different to prepare you for this process? No. At this point, so fresh out of the interview, I don’t know what else I could have done to be successful. Study the flashcards and know the material well. If you do the 15 day prep w/ RST, then do it again.
