Technical Test Questions The RST practice tests are as close as you can get – the questions were too complicated to repeat back here for the most part. One that I’m angry I missed was on light gun signals from the
What was the hardest technical question or content you experienced during the job knowledge test? There were lots – I only felt confident on about 50 percent of the written test questions. The RST prep service helped A LOT. Otherwise I would have bombed it. That being said, the Delta folks said that very few people fail the written test. The did NOT say that very few people fail for the Cognitive test, so I believe it was definitely worth the effort to practice for that portion of the test as well, whether with RST or Luminosity or something else.
HR Questions Overall, we talked about the negatives on my application and it seemed like my job was to address any concerns they might have: my failed checkride, how I would deal with being an older FO with a younger Captain, how I would handle my responsibilities in the USAF Reserves, etc. They also asked what I did to prepare for the interview, which caught me off guard. Everyone in my group was asked this – I told the truth (Emerald Coast, RST) and it worked out. They said that 90+ percent of folks were using some sort of prep service so it’s okay to be honest.
Cog Test The RST prep definitely set me up for success with the cog test – I found the RST exercises were often harder than the actual Delta test and I’m really glad I had some level of prep before I walked in.
How long prior to the interview did you prepare for the HR portion of the interview? I started preparing a few months out.
Which HR Prep service did you use and did it help? Emerald Coast – it definitely helped.
Any additional information you would like to add. Only 2 of the 4 candidates were hired on my day, and it was the same the day before. One military pilot, one Endeavor, for both days.
Is there anything you wish you could have done different to prepare you for this process? No
