Which Airline did you interview with? Fedex
How many days between invite, interview, and listed availability? 4 weeks
Did you receive a job offer? Yes
If you did not receive the CJO why do you think you weren’t chosen to continue in the process? N/A
What is your experience? 121 only
Total Flight Time 4,000-5,000
Total Turbine PIC Time 1,000-2,000
General Overview of Experience Very classy and professional. Day 1 was really relaxed outside the testing. Day 2 was really relaxed outside SBI and Panel. Both SBI and panel were very stressful. I expected panel to be more conversational but it was very regimented. Mine was one of the last of the day so I imagine they were tired and a little more serious. I walked away saying I had no chance of the CJO but I got the thumbs up.
How long did you have your application in before you received an invite? 6-12 months
Did you attend a job fair? No
Did you do anything special that triggered the interview invitation? No.
How many internal recs did you have? 1-2
How long was it from the time of your invite to the actual interview? 4 weeks
Did you have any issues with logbooks, application or paperwork? Logbook for my 121 flying was perfect and in a leather binder. Just like RST. My paper logs were a mess so my first 1000 hours. I would redo them of I had another interview. I also forgot one that got damaged and had about 200 hours in it. There was no discussion on my logs so either they don’t care about messy paper logs or didn’t notice.
How did you prepare for the JKT/COG portion of the interview? RST. Probably worried about it too much. Cog was simple and jkt was pretty easy.
Technical Test Questions Nothing you won’t see in rst.
What was the hardest technical question or content you experienced during the job knowledge test? I don’t remember any specific question but there were 5-6 that I wasn’t 100% on.
Cog Test Number/symbol I drilled into my head. I still remember mine. It’s highly weighted.
Cog Math Questions They are hard and take too long. I doubt I got more than 2 correct. They said the math isn’t weighted very high and you could miss them all and pass.
HR Questions Captain wants to push before you’re ready. Wwyd. At the time, at the hotel, at the end of the trip. Kept pushing and eventually I think they were looking for report it to the CP but I did everything else before going there. Talked to captain first.
How long prior to the interview did you prepare for the HR portion of the interview? 4 weeks
Which HR Prep service did you use and did it help? Emerald coast. For me I would have done audio/video only. I listened to a Webinar for about an hour and didn’t do the top off. It was common sense to me but I was in sales for 6 years so I’m not typical. You can’t change who you are no matter what course you take so don’t try. They will figure out a way to break you.
Any additional information you would like to add. Wear short sleeves day 1. Amy asked us why we were wearing long. She is really fun and laid back. Dress to impress on day 2. I wore some subtle purple.
Is their anything you wish you could have done different to prepare you for this process? Not studied so much for jkt. Maybe practiced a fake sbi but doubt it would have helped. It is intense when the clock starts.
